How do you give scores to people in different controllinators?

Archive: 7 posts

I am trying to make a fighting level (i have published the alpha version of it already) and I want it so when you attack another player that has a different tag, it gives -1 points to them, but instead of doing that, it also gives it to the player that attacked. I have checked all the tags in all of the sackbots to make sure that they weren't conflicting, but it still does this for some reason. please help me someone and feel free to ask for more info.2015-12-03 03:37:00

I'm sort of having the opposite problem with my bots... I made a system that was working to take points from just one specified player, made a lot of additions and now I've broken it so it only works in single player and doesn't take any points when there's a second player. Anyhow, once I sort out my problem it may shed some light on yours.
Could you post a pic of your logic?

Edit: Found that I'd accidentally disconnected a wire, but that was only part of the problem. My system is pretty simple, just using tags, supposed to take away 10 points when a player's bot dies or respawns. It works fine for single player but with more than one, the points are always taken from the wrong player - and not the place who's supposed to lose points.
My tags are correct and my score giver is set to only take points from the owner. Score giver is on a broadcast chip with a bunch of other stuff. The really confusing thing to me is that I had this working six months ago, so either the problem is caused by other additions I made to the system, or it's a bug with the score giver.

In any case, I'd like to know more about how your logic is set up. Maybe if I can see similarities/differences in our two issues it will help figure out the problem.

If you post a picture then I'm sure we can help you out, but as of now, there isn't enough info to help us help you. Post a picture of the logic? If possible also explain parts of the picture; the purpose of the pieces you explain, etc.2015-12-04 06:52:00

the score giver on the bottom is the one that gives -1 points and the top ones are for a score boost that gives 10 points. when a player attacks another player, the player that attacked gets -1 points instead of the one that is getting attacked. I am doing this with tags btw and no, they are all right. everything should be working i just don't understand. it's these annoying bugs that limit things you can do in lbp.

Here's how to fix it:
-Attach a tag to each controllinator that is one for each player, AND MAKE THE INPUT OF THE TAG THE CONTROLLINATOR IS ACTIVE OUTPUT (if you haven't done this already)
-Put down an AND gate into each score giver
-Put each previous input into the top input in the AND gate
-Place a tag sensor for each AND gate and change it to be the appropriate player (SELF, ENEMY, etc.) and set the tag sensor to signal strength; input this tag sensor into the bottom input

*IF this doesn't fix it, try reordering the inputs in the AND gates, that should fix it if it doesn't work the first time*

Any questions or issues?

Thanks @amiel, for my issue it worked to use the AND gate.
I had tried a few variations on my logic setup but not gotten there yet

Shouldn't need it, but it works now and that's what really matters.
