Jumping on objects with a follower

Im using 4 followers, 1 pointed in each way. If there is a tag in range it follows to it. I cant seem turn on or stop the follower from passing the tag, turning on, turning off. Basically trying to stop the follower from reading the follower underneath it when it reaches it and be able to jump to the next tag without issue.

Making top down platformer where the player can jump any direction as long as theres a platform there and be able to jump back to the platform.

Im a bit confused with this one because im not sure how to go around to do it.

Anyone mind helping me with this one because im not sure how to do it.

(need something like.. follow to a tag in range. Follow either up/down/left/right of the player and be able to be on the tag directly when reaches and have the tag under the platform not turn on while jumping to another platform.)

As I understand it, the tag you're directly on is interfering with your followers. You might be able to increase the minimum range of the followers so they don't detect nearby tags. I guess you're already using a selector to store your "state" (at rest, go left, go right, go up, go down), you might need to at a really short range follower to the "at rest" state to accurately position over the tag. Or maybe you're not, then you probably should.

Im actually close to finishing this off. I have the tags under the character deactivate. The characters cant select any other tags while moving. Issue I can see in the future is if there is no tags then the character cant move around.

I have the character move around and find a platform and it hops to it by just pressing forward. Basically if a platform is not in range the character cant move. so I need to find a way around this later on.

First problem. The character can't move; if using followers to jump you need to turn the follower off so your mover will work.

The jump. I'm imagining a large number of tags and a confusing selection process. So here is my idea. What if the player only jumps or follows one tag. Based on player facing a platform tag will be turned on. Then when the X button is pressed and an active tag is detected the follower is allowed to turn on. Just set a good min range so the tag under the player isn't detected. You will also need to make sure the tag stays on until the jump is completed, but not a moment longer.

If you use a narrow range tag sensor for this, make sure you set the detection angle to no less than 45 degrees, because ps3 players will experience dead zones in narrower range sensors. 15 degrees hardly even works on ps3.
