What is it with networks canceling great shows and keeping total garbage? Don't you hate it when you fall in love with a show, and it doesn't exist the next season - and they never really tell you why... it just never comes back. A few examples from last year: Day Break - T. Diggs plays a cop living the same day over and over, great show Journeyman - The guy from HBO's Rome plays a journalist who travels through time to help people - Came on after Heroes, and now it's gone My personal number one all time best single season show - and some will agree: FireFly I still want to cry everytime I think I will never see another new episode, and most likely no more movies either (Serenity). Thank you fox for failing to keep a great show on the air... yet somehow fox can keep a show about 2 guys breaking out of prison on for 4 years.

I don't really watch any TV, but I did catch on DVD the first (and only) season of Stella, from Comedy Central. Unbelievable show. Ridiculous to the extreme, and totally hilarious. 10 episodes, and it was canned. 2 of the 3 creators are now doing a new show, hopefully this one will stick around.

Freaks & Geeks is at the top of my list for a very specific reason: because it's my favorite single season show. Directed by Judd Apatow (Undeclared, The 40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up), the show never really found its stride. Starring James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Jason Segal. It's both charming and hilarious and a bummer that it didn't get a second season.

Firefly becomes the number 1 vote for me. Will be for a LONG time too. I can't think of too many shows that I liked that only had one season, most of the shows listed above didn't get airtime in the UK...

"Sons & Daughters" I thought this comedy was flat out brilliant - and incredibly unique. Then - gone!
