Hi all, I recently published a level, made some minor changes, and it caused the level to consistently shut the game down, I had to revert back to a previous backup to get it working again. I was fortunate to get a team pick for it, but it's not as good as it was. I started to fix up the problem and wanted to remove the word 'giveaway' from the title (I had to delete all the prizes from the level). When I try to change anything always says 'there was a problem with republishing...' So the question is; is there something blocking me from making changes? Will I be able to publish over a Team Picked level with the fixed version? (with pretty much a whole new level badge) It's a tricky question I know; but I thought that some team picked folks or smarter people than me know the ins and outs of this sort of thing.

Maybe you should contact StevenI, he can tell you, whether its a problem to republish a team picked level!

I had the same problem. In lbp2 I was able to edit my team picked levels. I could update them anyway I needed to. Recently, I got a team pick in lbp3. I was trying to do some funky score logic. It just didn't work, so I removed it from the level. But every time I tried to change the description I got the same message as you. That was 2 months ago. I'll try again tonight and let you know how I made out.

I think it's because they don't want you to change the level to something stupid, like an empty level. So they make it unpublishable. It could be for play boosting too. - - - - - - - - - - I had the same problem. In lbp2 I was able to edit my team picked levels. I could update them anyway I needed to. Hahaha, Sir monacle, as a little solace, I've also never got the honor to see a pink ribbon around one of my levels. Probably because they've been such a pleasure to play that StevenI has been so speechless that he simply forgot to give me one! More probably that unfinished levels don't get any pink ribbons! *follows you slowly backing away...*

I tried, once again, to edit my level description and failed. So I immediately tried to edit the description of a non picked level and it worked... But there may be other forces at work here. I seem to remember having a tough time editing the team picked level before it was picked. If I remember right it was due to adventure save. I deleted the save file and was able to publish changes. Thing is, I'm pretty sure I took out the adventure save logic, so that shouldn't be the issue now... But I should probably check to see if there is still a save file. I'll check and get back to you. Edit: nope. No saved data file. I did have one that just said corrupt data. I deleted that plus 10 others. I tried to edit the description and failed. Try making all the changes on your moon and republishing over the level. That might be how I did it before. It won't affect your ribbon unless you delete the level and republish a new one. I have definitely updated and republished, my picked levels before. I doubt they would stop creators from doing that. But, perhaps there are certain keys that are secretly in place to ensure the level remains the level that was picked... I sent messages to two friends to see if they can edit their picks, I'll let you know what they say.

I just got another team picked level, and I have been able to update it. I have had trouble doing so though. I do sometimes get the 'there was a problem with republishing...' message. The only advice I can give you is to keep trying until it works. I personally think this is an issue with their servers. Also another thing that seems to work for me. Copy the level to another empty slot on your moon, and then republish that version. For some reason that has worked for me every time. Could just be a coincidence, but its worth trying just in case.

So I tried on and off for a little while and finally was able to rename it from 'Giveaway' to 'Gallery' which was promising. I then was able to overwrite it with out issue, with a 'new' level (actually a copy of a copy) and it kept the stats and Team Picked ribbon.
