Dynamic zombot??

Hey guys, I'm trying to create a dynamic ZOMBOT that can move and run around obstabcles in order to reach the player.

For instance. When my character is on another floor of the level, the ZOMBOT will simply look up from below rather than moving sideways to go inside the building, and up the stairs to get to the character. Any suggestions?

Thats sounding great, it would make the behavior of the ZOMBOT more realistic...did I just say this?...ZOMBOT...realistic behavior???...I think I need a weekend for refreshment!

Thanks you guys, this stuff is pretty simple compared to what I am trying to accomplish but I can apply some of the concepts to my logic.

Essentially I have Zombies running around the map and following me, they need to be aware that I am at a higher level of the map, and be able to maneuver the obstacles around the map I.E. Stairs, Walls, Elevators, Ladders etc.. And be able to reach the top, as well as after doing so, begin following the player once again.

Not to mention that this will be a 4 player survival level, the logic will be extremely convoluted.

Not sure how elevators will work... It depends how your map and logic is built whether the zombies will make it up there. Might need a path of tags and some speedy tag followers. Personally I can't make a way for zombies to de-spawn and re-spawn without being counted again by the zombie counter.

However... Manoeuvring zombies... I have something of an idea...

For zombies going up a ramp or stairs in their way, have a flag where the player steps on it and the zombies change to following the flag until they reach it, then change back to following the player. You might need some selector logic to prevent them from being easily manipulated by the player, so they don't change again until a second flag is tripped when the player comes back into the foreground/away from the stairs. It's a little complicated but it's something I was planning on working on. If you want, we can try and work on the logic together. I'll update this with whatever I find.

There are quite a few ways, but they all contain tags, you could use a tag for the elevator to move when the zombot's in in it. Or you can use a tag to change the behaviour so it will grab to go up/down.
