New Feature: Recommended For You - Arriving September 21st!

Archive: 16 posts

Hello Everyone!

On Monday we will be rolling out a brand new feature with Game Update 1.13 (http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/LittleBigPlanet-Pod/LittleBigPlanet-Game-Update-1-13-Notes/td-p/45379824) - Recommended For You!

What is Recommended For You?

It's a brand new Community menu category that will generate a personalised list of level recommendations based on your Hearted Players' activities.

So if one of your Hearted Players hearts a level or even publishes their very own level; you may see it pop up in your Recommended For You level recommendations.

If more than one of your Hearted Players hearts the same level; then you could very well see that level jump up to the top of your Recommended For You recommendations... Just asking for you to play it!

We're really looking forward to bringing this new feature to you on Monday because it really helps address one of the most commonly raised issues within the community of being able to find levels that match your personalised tastes!

A small number of community members have already had some hands-on time with this new feature and since this is a very personalised new feature, you may see some of them popping in here to share their personal experiences with Recommended For You so far.

As Steven said some members would be sharing their personal experiences with the new feature and I can honestly say It's perfect I have found so many gems, some of which got Team Picked (Inserts level link here: https://lbp.me/v/qw5xnj-/topreviews?p=1&l=12)

I have found so many new creators and content of which i wouldn't have found before! Seriously this is a game changing feature! If you're sick of bomb survivals, Five nights at Freddy's levels and so much more be pumped! Whilst they may appear they won't be shown nearly as much unless you love them!

Yes it's a great idea! I love "recommended"-sections!

e.g. I have Spotify for a month now, and listen to so many great Bands and Songs I've never heard before, cause of the "recommended for You" section.

You guys are going to absolutely LOVE this new feature. I was skeptical at first, thinking, meh, it's just going to bring more bomb/shark/FNAF/Slenderman/KJB levels to me. Oh how wonderfully wrong I was! As one who scours LBP.me every. single. day. looking for good levels to play...and finding few, I can say with certainty that this Recommended To You feature is one of the answers we've been looking for. It brought the levels right to ME! There was no looking through page after page of new levels on LBP.me trying to find that one gem, no, I just opened the game and scrolled over to the new category and Ba-Bam! Good levels, right there! Brilliant!2015-09-17 13:33:00

Right from the start, I was recommended some really cool levels from creators I'd never heard of before. But I also found levels in my recommended list that were posted in forums and I would have put in my Q anyway

I'm often hearting levels of "beginners" and their first trials, to encourage them to go on creating and have fun with the editor!...

...maybe you should delete me from your buddy lists!

Haven't tried this yet since I'm new on LBP3 and I still need to heart some people, but I already like how it sounds.
I think it's a great idea, it's exactly what we need, a huge step forward in making LBP a better game. Great job!

Recommended For You is now live!

Don't forget to Heart any Players that you would be interested in receiving level recommendations from and let's not forget that you can also return the favour to the community by Hearting any levels that you want to recommend to the players that have Hearted you!

There's definitely a lot of love to spread around the community for players and levels in this new feature!

Any feedback or thoughts on this new feature, please do let us know!

I've been experiencing a bug where clicking on levels in the Recommended For You section is leading me to random levels instead. Maybe I'll try to restart it and see if it works.

EDIT: Nevermind, it works! Also, it seems the yay button is gone from the pause screen.

the yay button is there. you have to go to the "Review It" part then "Leave Your Own Review". the yay button is there and you can exit out without leaving a review.. but I agree, I miss the yay button being easily accessible.

I have seen some criticism of this new feature. people saying things like "they're encouraging H4H" and stuff like that... really that's just silly. why not heart or yay a level or a creator that makes creative stuff? I've been hearting levels that I believe were done well since I started the game. those levels aren't always my personal taste either.

I already figured it out, I just don't like the idea of removing the button from the pause screen. That's just uncomfortable and new players might have a problem with finding it.

If the devs want to get rid of the yays, why don't they remove the other button as well? There would be only hearts and if you have any favorites, you could just put them on a list.
