No, Sensors don't have inputs.
The Projectile Sensor and the Paintball Sensor are effectively the same tool, except that they are separate due to the Paintinator being added to LBP1 long before LBP2 and it's Projectile Sensor.

Is it possible you have confused a Projectile Sensor for a Counter at some point?

Is there a way to be able to shoot a counter with a paintball gun and make the counter's bar go down? Do I need the paintball sensor? I can't find it anywhere. Is there another way to shoot an object with a counter on it and make the life bar go down?2015-08-16 01:51:00

Use the projectile sensor set to sense paintballs. Pretty positive that's a thing.2015-08-16 19:41:00

Sensors don't have inputs. But if you want another way to have a paintball make a 'counter' go down;

If using the 'creatinator' or a 'custom weapon':
- Put a tag on the paintball, or whatever projectile.
- Put an 'impact sensor' or 'tag sensor' on the enemy that senses that tag.
- Connect the 'impact sensor'/'tag sensor' to the 'counter' and invert the 'counter' if necessary

If using a 'paintinator' as weapon:
- Put the 'painball sensor' on the enemy. (If you have the MetalGearSolid Levelpack)
- Set the sensor to the amount of hits.
- (The paintball sensor automatically detects when it gets hit with a paintball)
- Connect the 'Paintball sensor' to a 'Counter'.
- Set the counter to 'Directional' and invert it if necessary.

Hope this helped!

EDIT: Also if you want a sensor to have an input, put the sensor in a microchip and connect whatever to the microchip's input.
