Exam Results!

Archive: 8 posts

So last Tuesday I got my Higher Exam Results (AS-Level if your English I think?) and I am happy to say I got straight As in my 5 Highers and the extra National 5 (GSCE) I picked up this year. Anyway I know that England got their Exam Results last Tuesday so I guess I made a little post so we can discuss.2015-08-16 00:13:00

A few people in my school also got five A's at Higher. I was able to get two A's (History and RMPS) and 2 C's (Maths and English). Unfortunately got a D in Physics but I don't need it for what I want to do at Uni. Start 6th year on Tuesday and will be doing Philosphy, Modern Studies, Biology and Admin. (All at higher and only having done Biology previously [A at Nat 5])

[Insert "exams are too easy these days" cliche here]

But seriously, congratulations on the results. My exam results were always below what I was expected, except in maths. 86/90 in my pure maths A-Level. (this was over 10 years ago btw).

I hope one of your A's wasn't in English.

...I'm more of a literature guy anyway xD I was expected to get 100% in my higher Maths exam and then it was legit the hardest thing I have ever done- they dropped the pass mark to 34%. And 86/90 0.0 thats really impressive!

Did you do CfE Higher Physics? Because we did old higher (The only old higher I did) and it was really difficult! Well I did Physics, Chemistry, Human Biology, Maths and English at Higher and National 5 Latin last year. Next year I am doing Advanced Higher Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics and might do Higher Latin. What are you wanting to do at Uni?

I am not aware how other universities handle their degree programmes; but when I went to Aberdeen you could experiment with different subjects for the first year and officially change your majors in the second. I had quite a bit of fun with archaeology despite remaining with my original choice of joint English Literature / History.2015-08-17 20:03:00

I am hoping to do Medicine at Edinburgh- it's a six year course but I get a Medical degree and another degree from it. To be honest I'll go anywhere that'll take me but I am hoping for Edinburgh. Alternatively I would like to do Law and Politics- but since my personal statement is going to be science based primarily I don't think it'd be wise to use my non-medicine choice on that course
