The LittleBig Matrix (VIDEO & PICS) - by wexfordian

Archive: 11 posts

Hi guys and gals,
This is one of my older levels but just thought I'd put it up here as I thought it was a pretty decent level if you havn't played it yet.

As the title suggests its loosely based on the first Matrix movie. It contains a small boss fight in the middle and a bit of paintinator action towards the end.

Its quite a short level but due the detail involed the thermo is maxed.

Big Thank you to Vanemiera for the video!

FINALLY! lol. It's nice to see you finally made a thread for this. Played it over a month ago though so I will go back and play it again to make sure my feedback is accurate. I already gave it 5 stars and a heart the first time around 2009-03-04 10:46:00

Ah yes, memories.... I played this a while back. Fairly short, but really high quality level. I LOVED the room where the sack boys are imprisoned! Those octopus-matrix-looking duded (I don't even know what they're called in the movie) were really well done. Glad you didn't chince-out on the difficult stuff. Also, the big wheel you had to work through was great. I would definately recommend everyone play this (if they haven't already!)2009-03-04 18:02:00

Now I'm all confused. I played a matrix level a while ago that did a pretty cool job on the slow-mo lobby gunfight sequence, I thought that was this one, but perhaps I've never played this one?2009-03-04 18:26:00

Thanks CCubbage and OCK,
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had fun making it!

Well my level doesn't have the slow-mo lobby gunfight sequence in it so it must have been a different one.

Although there are about 50 versions of this currently out there published by other people as their own due to a very bad decision on my part to make it copyable for a few days. I learnt my lesson the hard way

In fact last night I got a messege that one of the people on my friends list just published a level called "the littlebig planet matrix" and as soon as I saw the messege I thought "no, surely not" but sure enough another person has simply changed the title and published it as their own.

Anyway, I don't want to get too bogged down in that whole thing. Immatation is a form of flattery and all that jazz

I enjoyed the level... The only thing I don't really care for was some of the camera angles... There are several section where you see a lot of floor...

The big circle paintinator section was a lot of fun... I would type more but my puppy is going crazy on me right now...

Lot's of fun!

I have to say well done and this was a very fun level! I played it a while ago but I might want to play it again soon. My two favourite parts were the section near the start with all the sackpeople and the Paintinator wheel at the end was a VERY fun challenge. Good job with this. I also love your pinball wizard levels.2009-03-10 20:40:00

Nice level! I kept getting killed in the wheel though. I soon as I spawned I would roll down into enemy fire. Great design though, sucks that people had to copy your hard work.2009-03-11 04:14:00

I've played this level many times. Brought friends over to play this level a few times too. It's one of the first levels I hearted when I was able to play online for the first time. Talk about finding a diamond right off the bat!

I love that in the opening scene you have choice - like in the film. The battery towers and machines that patrol them are fantastic both in design, lighting and camera use. I also found your attention to detail when being pulled up into the ship nice. The dojo training area - the first time I saw it made me laugh and say wow all at the same time. The design in this area is really well done and with only a few items it really seems like the film training scene to me - as much as it can in LBP. The lighting on the green wheel and the agents are impressive too.

The only trouble I've ever had on the level was in the elevator but you already know about issues with that I think. The warning to hold on was helpful but even so every now and then it goes up the doors wobble then it comes down and the doors won't open when it goes back up. It may have been fixed since I played last but really that's the only issue I've ever had with the level.... well, the elevator and that other slimy non-creative types have ripped off your work... but you know about that already.

Great level 5 stars and a heart!
Thanks for starting the thread - I've wanted so sing this levels praises for awhile now.

Thanks guys for all your comments.....

And Morgana, I do already know about the issues with the elevator although the elevator is so overly complex it really would be a massive job to rip it out and build a new one I decided to just leave it. The level has had more than enough plays and has kind of run its course.

Saying that though, Vanemiera has provided me with a new video of it it so I might just get around to fixing it after all
