Welcome back!! AGAIN!!!

Archive: 113 posts

After many months of waiting, sobbing, walking floors, scrubbing floors, eating pizza, watching reruns of reruns, we once again regained our beloved domain name!!! Then was the small matter of repairing a few minor things that kept the forums from showing (that was really weird!!). We are freaking back!!!!

A special thanks to Chaz for snagging the domain name and of course Taffey for the funding to keep our server running even though nothing was working correctly.

A huge huge apology from myself for many months of being out of touch, but my job demanded so much of my time that even my family starting booing me. lol Those projects are almost done and in fact, I broke their budget working so much OT that I can't anymore. lol

And to be honest, i haven't really missed LBPC. Shamefully, i must've been the person who reported the hack in the first place in the LBP3 Skype chat... I've been on Sackinima and LBF during the downtime. I'm highly interested in the future of LBPC now it's back. Surely it must've lost some popularity.

Yay, we are back.

I may not have been active here for quite some time, I haven't played any LBP in many years (except for some couple sessions last summer, never really played or built anything, there though), and I can't afford or have any plans on getting LBP3 at least any time soon. I am however somewhat attached to this site. LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2 are the games I've spent most time on to date... I (thankfully) don't know the exact hours but it must be in the thousands. LBPC has been a huge part of that and through this site I've made friendships that go so far beyond this silly little game. The fear of losing this whole site, all forum threads, all messages, everything; it was rather depressing. So glad to see the good old LBPC being back on its feet 		2015-07-26 14:13:00

Fantastic seeing the site back and some wonderful friends who I haven't heard from in ages. It's good to see you here!

My music is still going strong...6 more songs to complete for "The Hit" movie soundtrack. Last year one of my songs was also used in "CSI New York", and I will soon be hosting some Radio Broadcasts for 1670 AM in San Antonio, Texas. The Station supports Independent Artists, and yesterday it streamed all 12 of the songs I have composed for the movie so far...very thankful for that.

Hopefully I can stop by more frequently, but my work load is very demanding these days. You are all always in my thoughts, and I wish for you all many successes in your endeavors.

OOOHHH!! whew... I read that in a bad way. My apologies. A bit sensitive from all the work from our last hacking episode in Dec 2014 and then the horrible journey that started after we recovered in Feb.

The reason we went down two weeks later was that our domain was suspended thanks to the former owner of that domain name. It finally expired in June and we were able to snag it just a few days ago.

I have an answer... It wasn't hackers.

What took us out back in February is we lost our domain name. It was suspended, even though it didn't expire till June. I made an alt domain name, but because of the way vBulletin works, I was unable to make it work totally. Plus I was given a "must complete by July 30" project at work that took ever single waking moment of my time, both nights and weekends up until till a few weekends ago when I finished it.

The domain expired in June and after a bit of time they allow for the owners to renew, we snagged it back and here we are.

We were hacked in December 2014 and I found that there were over 300 hacked and altered files that I fixed, plus removed as many known threats as I could. So when we were hacked in Dec 2013, the current admin group failed to find and remove everything. I fixed all that in February right before our domain was suspended. Not sure how it happened, but possibly the former owner did not respond or he did it himself as a parting shot.

We own it all now, domain, vBulletin, and webhost and I have removed all traces of other access that I know of and could find. Are we fool proof? Well.. nothing is really, but I did my best with what I had and will continue to work on getting us upgraded to the newest version of forums software.		2015-07-28 21:18:00

I was worried LBPC was never coming back! I hope the old community floods back in and gets this place back into position as the liveliest LBP joint around. Going out shortly after the release of the game can't have been good for either this community or the LBP community as a whole, but I remain hopeful.

Aahh I've been meaning to respond here soonerrr

I just wanted to say, well... thanks a whole lot to the dedicated staff at LBPCentral for keeping this site going, despite the fact that it may just have a bit of a curse against it. My activity/level of contributions to these forums has certainly been dipping for a while now and before the major shutdown, but it's still a place that I and many other members have really grown to care for (old cringeworthy posts of mine and all). From Mafia, The Console Wars, and LBPC: The Game to the Community Chessboards, Quote Archives, and the ever-lovely Community Spotlights, LBPCentral Crown Contests, and more. Not to put any more stress on you guys and gals than there's already been, but managing to preserve and look after it all still is definitely appreciated. And it's great to hear all the nonsense regarding LBPC's domain name was sorted out successfully, too.

Holy crap LBPC is back! I got to say I'm extremely skeptical about that though. It's been "back" before. I checked twitter at least once a month to see what was going on. I nearly stopped checking. Actually this time probably would have been the last. I stopped creating in LBP3 because it's a horrible mess on the PS3 and I stopped playing because LBPC was gone. Now that LBPC is back I might start playing again. I think LBPC is an essential part of the LBP games and without it, it's just not the same.
