Platform-section mini-game

Eh hello and welcome ![]() so, i wanted to create a cool mini-game involving platforming. And then i came up with this: You guys know the conveyer belts from bunker... right? So my idea was actually to make sections of some cool platforming atached to eachother... Well they wouldn't really be atached to eachother, because my plan to emit those sections randomly. It'll be like one of those mini-games where you have to keep running 'n jumping, because there's gas behind you (and in front of you)..... Then constantly new sections keep coming from out of the gas in front of you. And it will contineu with new sections increasing in its difficulty and speed of the conveyer belt. And then the camera will be at 1 place being held still. Each section will be build up from a simple default block.... Although i do have to say that i have minimum experience at emmitting things in LBP, and i actually wouldn't really know how to emit those sections randomly, and super tight to eachother. To make them close together: Put a rocket on each one, hidden somewhere, and a mag swich that activates rocket. Have some keys in spawn area so rocket fires untill the 'cars' have slammed into each other. Randomising, have a few randomisers powering emmitters that spawn different types of cars IN THE SAME SPOT. farther FORWARD, and emergency emmitter, with no emmitter randomiser, to make sure that if other emmitters don't fire, it does. | 2009-03-03 20:31:00 Author: DRT99 ![]() Posts: 431 |
But to activate the rocket you have to attach the wire to it... I heard there was a glitch about this where emitted objects with switches on them got 'unwired' So if anyone knows... About the randomizing... you really helped there DRT99 thanks. I know how to make it totally radom now ![]() btw if you have an emergency emitter... wouldn't that emitter produce the same block al the time? Ok... I've already made a start. But... I hate it that those motorbolts make such a noise <__> I just wanted some cool music, without hearing that annoying sound ![]() I've got an idea though... I was thinking about making the bottom of each part really high, so you'll be far enough to not hear the motorbolts anymore. The idea wich DRT99 came up with (the rockets) are really helpfull... It really works great. I'm first gonna fine-tune everything... and then i'm gonna make it look fancy. I'm actually thinking of making it kinda like the style from the story level: "The Mines" So that would be red/brown rock and red sponge... And probably something like dark wood. Any other ideas or suggestions are appreciated ![]() Ofcourse if you guys want to make a section, just say so! And i still don't have a name... If i manage to survive this week of school, (especially tomorrow... darned presentations) i will have a lot more time ![]() ![]() Also.. please keep me informed Yarbone ;D I'm really looking forward to this project for two reasons. I love community based levels like Boss Rush and the level some creators are working on now ( The "Those who felt like it" one). And second because it's a minigame! And minigames rule. I do have a question though.. is it just a mini-game, or a survival challenge? Because then there would also need to be a difficulty increaser i guess.. How are you going to do that with "premade" obstacles? Are you just going to increase the conveyer belt's speed?
