My favorite Zelda game is A Link To the Past.

Ocarina was a great game but I felt it wasn't as genuinely designed as ALTTP in overall. Music was also meh besides ALTTP.

I never owned ALTTP, so thusly never beat it, and besides that I've played link's awakening, ocarina, majora's, and twilight princess... those are the only ones I beat, even though I have only borrowed ALTTP, it's still the coolest one to me. I should beat it sometime, somehow...

I was a grunt of the 8-bit and 16-bit gaming eras, I don't know how Zelda slipped past me so much.

You definetely should put ALTTP in your 2009's resolutions.

A Link to the Past is the best game on the best system ever. So I guess that would get my vote.2009-03-04 06:28:00

Wind waker is easily the best. Although Majora's Mask could be as good I suppose...2009-03-04 07:55:00

I've never owned a Nintendo system apart from a Pocket Gameboy so I don't have much experience with the series. I have ALTTP on my PSP but haven't played it all that much. Another game on the must-finish list that I will probably never finish.

Hmmm... I have a Wii now though (well me and my bros bought it and Wii Fit for the parents) so I might buy OoT for it or maybe that newish one made for the Wii... Twilight Princess I think. Or maybe wait until the N64 emulator for the PSP is good enough to run OoT well.

Are they really all that good?

They are all good games but if you are a new player or mildly interested, i'd take the most visually pleasing. Twilight Princess.

Oh yeah, I have plenty of games that have been sitting around for a decade or two that I still need to beat... I did get really close the last time I played it, I think I was already in the shadow world near the fight with Ganon, though I'm not sure if I actually accomplished that or just played my friend's save...

I know newer isn't supposed to necessarily be the best, so I'm going a little against the grain... but I LOVED Twilight Princess. It was a game that made me truly appreciate the Wii remote. There was definately a few times in there I said "whoooaaa!" (such as trying to ride a horse and shoot enemies while protecting a carriage from being set on fire - AND putting out the flames at the same time). And the sword battles were fantastic.

Before that, my favorite was Windwaker.

If someone was new to the Zelda Series I'd recommend my personal 2 favorites, Alltp and Oat. As a seasoned zelda player i found some of the dungeons pretty long/challenging in TP, even for zelda.

However an adult player might find more fun in TP, its a lot darker/sinister/mature .

I'll be honest and admit that I've only played through the original. I've certainly played the others, but never it their entirety. I'm sure I'm missing out and everyone will now think less of me, but I just had to get that off my chest.

Ahhh... feel so much better now!

Thats too bad. I loved Ocarina of Time. It's the only zelda I've played through. Except for the original one for the game boy, Links Awakening; that was an excellent game.

But I feel in love w/ ocarina of time; it just seemed like such a huge open awesome world w/ a good story.

Nah, you're saved by the fact you're a NIN fan.
By the way, did you see that they are playing The Fragile in their new starting tour? Go on their Youtube man, it's amazing.

A tie between OOT and Wind Waker. Both of them had so much extra stuff to do, unlike TP. Majora's Mask would have to come in a close second. They're all so good. I spent so much time just exploring on Wind Waker, though. The world felt so much bigger than the others.2009-03-09 01:12:00
