I could do much, much better, but I didn't want to put a lot of effort if it wasnt going to be supported, you know? So leave me your feedback!

The reason why it might not get supported is because you said that you didn't put a lot of effort into it, just sayin'.

It's like shooting yourself in the foot.

He actually has a point though. Lbp vitas communtiy is very small, and most people I've met are the ones that play noob levels like 100 jumps. I doubt they'll play the hidden gems scattered across the community.2015-02-24 20:38:00

Appreciated.

That's because I learned my lesson with LBP2. I put a lot, lot, LOT of effort into my Resident Evil stages there. Here's a link to one that I think is very polished:
https://lbp.me/v/qt7z4q1

It supports TWO player mode. But wanna play solo? That's alright. I have developed an AI partner for you (you can choose your partner out of 8 characters, all with different abilities and characteristics) and you can command them to ATTACK, FOLLOW, or WAIT.

The result? Very few plays. I was devastated honestly. But it is what it is.
I don't want the same scenario to happen again, if there's at least one person out there that is actually looking forward to more, i WILL create more.

Exactly.

I just checked your profile and honestly, wasn't impressed. No profile pic, no info about yourself, nothing at all. It's like you wouldn't exist, so editing your profile is where you should start.

As for your levels, if you want more plays you should try something original and fun. There are already hundreds of Resident Evil levels and people might be just tired of them. Even if someone's going to play one of them, it will surely be the one with the highest rating. I don't see the point in making another one. The same goes for giveaway levels. Giveaways are for non-creative people and you don't want to make levels just for noobs, right?

Oh, and make sure your level has a nice level badge and description because it's the first step to make a good impression and attract people's attention.

I don't really get your logic. What does a fancy profile have to do with anything? If a level is great, it's great. If it's bad, it's bad. Having a 15 line bio and a picture of myself is not going to change any of that.

Are you saying that my level is not original? Lol. DId you look at the LBP2 level I linked you? I dare you right now to find any other level that has twO player coop, single player with AI, 8 playable characters, a hiding from an enemy system, etc.

Just because it has "Resident Evil" in the title doesn't give you the right to accuse it of not being unique.

As for the last advice, all my levels have appropriate badges and descriptive descriptions.

I mean, I truly appreciate you giving advice, but don't talk bad about me or my levels when you didn't even bother to check them.

because "eye candy" sells. I'm way guilty of this one. When I'm looking for newly published levels. The ONLY thing i'm looking at is the level badge. If the badge grabs my attention, THEN I will click on the link and see what the description says and then I'll click on the photos page. If there are no photos, chances are I'm not queuing the level. Eye candy sells. You want people to play your level yet you don't want to put effort into selling it. You have to advertise the heck out of it. Take pictures of the level yourself to use as self promotion. Before I even published my Vita level, I took tons of pics to try and find the right one(s) to use as advertisement. I promoted it heavily and everywhere. On twitter, LBPC, LBN, LBF, Sackinima, Planetarium, Reddit, and some smaller LBP forums. Everywhere.
Look at my level thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=83456-Conjunction-Junction&highlight=conjunction+junction) vs yours. Eye candy sells. Spruce up your profile like they said. Eye Candy Sells. You don't have to write a 15 page autobiography. A couple of sentences is enough and make a profile pic. When you look at all the "shark survivor"; "Slender man" "Kill Beiber" "50 jumps" bomb survivor levels out there, look at the creator's profile pic. 99.9% of the time, nothing. Looks like a noob.

Also, create for yourself and not for the plays. yes, it would be nice to get our hard work seen by hundreds and hundreds of people but sometimes that just ain't going to happen. I was ecstatic that the 10 or so people that I had asked to play it, played it and liked it. I could have lived with that. I had fun creating it and a few of my friends played and liked it. Then and only then, did I start advertising it pretty hard.

You have to treat your level as if you are a used car salesman. You have to sell, sell, sell. Tell all about the bells and whistles and put three extra coats of wax on it to make it shine even more. You don't do any of that, then don't complain when it does not sell.

Yeah, Bio pretty much explained what I was trying to say. XD

Just because it has "Resident Evil" in the title doesn't give you the right to accuse it of not being unique.
Imagine tousands of people calling you to play their bomb survivals and each of them saying that they are original. Would you agree?

From what I've learned about the politics of LBP, the amount of plays is proportional to the quality of the level IF enough advertising has gone into making a level. Advertising can be accomplished through several ways:

Publish for a contest/event
This is honestly free publicity. Also people don't expect as much from events as they are simply community gatherings to create something fun and light.
Post on the Projects pages of Forums
This one requires you to keep an updated page on at LEAST one of the forums because otherwise it will become forgotten about or worse, considered spam. I'm quite bad about finishing levels but I post most projects to this section as it's what people like. Posting pictures keeps people entertained no matter what they are of from your level in this section. For all my failed projects, I can at least say a good amount of people have heard of some of my levels that didn't get finished.
Post on the Level pages of forums
This one needs to be polished. NEVER post without the advanced tools here. Include the LBP.me link very visibly. If I don't see a link, I won't play it. Period. Pictures are also generally needed for me to queue a level. Here is a great tutorial for pics on vita https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=75691-How-to-take-effective-pics-of-a-level . I highly recommend you use that method to get pictures.

That's the basics of LBP politics and the rest you simply have to hope for the best. Another point that pertains to your levels is that it is HARD to sell a play for a game based off of another in LBP forums. You have to include something very unique (Very clearly point out why it is unique) in order for people to not dismiss entirely. That's just because a lot of people throw together a small level that doesn't really play well and call it a brand name.
Anyways, I queued but my queue generally doesn't move for a while so expect a play within the next month or so.

Wow, I feel a bit pressured now. XD

I'm afraid this level might disappoint then.. I wish you guys would try one of my Outbreak levels on LBP2. I think they're great, and you would see that a lot of passion goes into making levels.

Regardless, thanks all.

Psh, don't feel pressured! We all want you to do well and make something great! I rarely care about the quality of levels posted on this forum as I know that people that post here do try their best given their circumstances and feelings towards the game. That's really all we could hope for 2015-02-26 05:40:00

yeah, I don't think we mean to come down on you hard or anything. We just want us all to be the best we can be and try to build each other up. You are our brethren and we want the same for you. I'm queuing those LBP2 levels too. Might be a tick before I get back on Vita.2015-02-26 23:06:00
