Welcome Back! Which new character is more handicapped, Toggle, OddSock, or Swoop?

Swoop. When diving during "Even Bosses Wear Hats," if you are playing with a friend and you get too close your dive will turn into a grab and you will both be squished. This crops up all over the place in the story, actually: my nephew and I got used to taking turns going through obstacles because if we didn't, we'd just drag each other to our dooms.

My suggestion: if you're going to do Swoop levels, use a broadcast to make the players ungrabbable or unable to grab so they can dive freely.

The preferred term is handicapable.

Except for Sackthing, who is also not handicapped, just old and a little decrepit.

I would say Swoop. The fact that you can't change layers while flying is pretty annoying. I also find his walking and jumping speed to be unsatisfying during gameplay but perhaps that's just because he was designed to fly.

Oddsock is a close second, since he has absolutely no ability to grab. Why couldn't the devs let him at least grab with his mouth?

Toggle (I'd consider) is the most fun to play as, considering he's practically 2 variants of Sackboy. Overall to make the characters more even: make Swoops 'swoop' action L1, allow him to change layers mid-air with the right stick, and let Oddsock grab with R1.

They're all pretty limited and awkward, Oddsock is okay though because he controls pretty well.

Swoop is truly awful though, whoever thought that mapping grab and glide to the same button was a good idea is a moron. No offense meant if that moron is a poster here. Okay, some offense meant.

Every character is handicapped!
Oddsock can't grab stuff. (It would be adorable if he would do it with his mouth!)
Swoop has the same button for gliding and grabbing, why?!
Toggle can't walljump and climb on ladders (Again, being fat is not a problem.)

Its probably one of the harder things to get right with additional characters, you either have it so everyone is a little restricted so they all have a use or end up in a situation like Sonic 3 & Knuckles where the new characters match the core abilities of the main character but their extra abilities leave the main character looking a little lacking.2015-02-26 23:42:00

I'm grateful to have the new characters but I will probably only find limited use for them, if any. I'm thinking of using big Toggle for an NPC in one of my projects and Swoop and Oddsock might be ridable mounts, but as for player characters, all I'm using is Sackboy.2015-02-27 00:48:00
