I've noticed that I can't get subtitles working like I used to (either on a sequencer or just by a player sensor)...is there a new method of using them or is it a bug? James

Hi there, just to make sure, have you turned on subtitles via the Pause Menu and under the Settings section? This may be the reason why you aren't seeing any subtitles.

Could be the reason!! Was this an option on LBP2?.... If I use subtitles I'm guessing folks with the option turned off won't see a thing!?! I'll give it a go when I get on later and leave an update! Thanks James - - - - - - - - - - Yes....setting for subtitles were set as off.. turning them on and they return...looking a little different (transparent black lozenge behind text) most of my older levels used to subtitles as prompts or to help the narrative along... seems odd that they can be turned off and this effects subs in create mode... has it always been this way?? James

Hi Could anyone confirm that subtitles made in create mode are blank unless subtitles are turned on in the main settings menu.....not sure if its just a bug for me.... Thanks James

That seemed to be the case for me. I believe the default is that subtitles are off which is a bit weird to me.

Hmmm.... Seems weird to me too... Nearly all community made levels don't have any speech...so having it tied to the main subtitle setting renders it pretty useless. Using it now in any level, only a very small number of people will be able to see them...everyone else will be left in the dark.

I've been experimenting with subtitles, here's what I found. 1) No subtitles will ever show in LBP3 unless the player enables them in their display options (this is not how it was in LBP2). 2) Subtitles in LBP2 levels are broken in LBP3, they will show speech bubbles instead. The subtitle magic mouths are set to "Display: nothing" - which SHOULD still work, but they don't. If you change the display to something else then back to nothing, then they work. But you can't make that change without publishing the level again in LBP3. So because subtitles are terminally broken, I changed all my levels to use captions instead of subtitles as a workaround.
