LBP3 Post 1.05 Bugs

This is a list of bugs I've found since Patch 1.05.

1. "The Battle on the Ice" doesn't seem to work still. It only works in the EU Disc version, apparently.

2. Missing LBP1/LBP2 imports
-includes Fez hat costume piece, Winter hat costume piece, Ringmaster Mustache costume piece, Baseball helmet costume piece, Baghead costume, possibly more that I haven't discovered yet. Some of the skins that you start LBP1 with (blue, orange, and pink) are missing.
-Some create backgrounds are missing (such as Victoria's).
-The "Also Sprach Zarasthrustra" (LBP2) song aka theme from 2001 is missing from LBP3

3. Missing sound objects - History Pack and Nightmare Before Christmas Pack sounds do not appear in the sound object despite collecting them.

4. MGS Pack Intro level prizes cannot be collected because they get stuck

5. Voice Recording feature broken - only records about 1 second before cutting off.

I found one as well: on the four player map you access through Manglewood (I forget the name at the moment), you will not get the Ace prizes despite acing the level, and it will not show that you have aced the level either.

I tried it twice, but I'm sure no one died in the process both times. Either its a bug, or I'm crazy.

My story mode adventure maps are unplayable. The character shrines are missing, Minigame level links are gone. And the Ziggurat I just spawn here and endlessly fall to my death.

On the other hand, my story completion finally went back up to 100% after it went down from 1.03

Voice Recording feature broken - only records about 1 second before cutting off.


The reason for that is that LBP3 uses the length of a magic mouth for gibberish voice and voice recording. The problem is, the algorithm or something is broken. LBP2 even did this, but it was less noticeable since the code LBP2 used was better.

You can kind of fix the problem by adding underscores.

The new anti-corruption system that supposedly was gonna help against data loss actually made things worse than before. Whenever you play story levels or community levels or popit academy puzzles everything gets reset when you shut down your PS4. The game thinks that you never played anything after that point so each progress is lost. I'm pretty sure that this is a major error and I hope it gets fixed soon.2015-02-16 20:10:00

I downloaded the MGS pack as well as the Monsters Kit post 1.05 and every time I shut down its like I never played em'. I also always receive two pins that I got post 1.05 every time I start playing. Weird thing is levels on my moon and costumes and stuff will save... Meh.

Okay... what happened to me last night is just too much. I have a level that I've already published on my earth that I've been updating frequently. I take it on myself to add another update last night. I work for about 45 minutes or so, adding various tweaks. I go to play mode to test the level, everything checks off, I go back to my pod from Play Mode to publish the level. I publish it, and play it. When I play it, it's the halfway played through level that I tested on my moon. I just don't even understand it, how can the game save my Play Mode game from my moon? Now, I've lost over an hours worth of work, and will have to spend about that much time to get everything working again, as the menu I made for the level is completely gone due to the fact that I used a destroyer on it once the level is started.

I understand that the developers are working hard on the game, I appreciate it, they've been great at receiving feedback, but honestly I can't play a game in this state. It's not worth risking 5 hours of my life to lose it all to some random freak accident. That's why I'm not playing the game anymore until it is completely fixed.

Agreed. I'm not playing until I'm confident everything is stable + all of my imports from LBP1/LBP2 are back. StevenI said that the QA team is aware of these bugs, so hopefully the next patch can be the one to finally put it all to rest.

Played through the DC level pack, MGS level pack and the Incredibles level and collected a lot of the goodies. The next time I started the game my progress was gone and all the goodies had disappeared from my popit.2015-02-17 21:54:00

Bug 1 (Visual Bug): After saving many times in a session the saving icon stops showing up properly.

Bug 2 (Compatibility Error): When entering a Level Link in a DLC level the game thinks you have successfully completed the level, when in LittleBigPlanet 2 it did not do this. Also when this happens the level unlocking animation doesn't show properly.

Bug 3 (Broken Popit Icons): The Graduation Mortar Board and Graduation Gown costume pieces, and the Warning Stripes and Dented Metal materials show up as red exclamation points instead of the correct icons.

Bug 4 (Incorrect Item shows in More Menu): The Plastic Ball, Acrylic Tube (T-junction), Cooling Fan, Spats Shoe, Adhesive Tape Holder, and some other Collected Objects incorrectly open the Basic Wood's menu when the "More" Button is pressed. When the Use! option is pressed the Spats Shoe shows instead of the correct object, and the progress icon is shown for objects that incorrectly open the Basic Wood's More Menu.
Similarly the Cowboy Hat and Cat objects incorrectly show the More Menu of the Boost Boots, and for the Custodian Helmet and Grey Bowler Hat, Basic Metal is shown.

Bug 5 (Error Loading Objects): Sometimes when loading a Captured Object the game thinks it is corrupted and shows a red exclamation point on it.

Bug 6 (The Battle on the Ice): The 1.05 update did not fix the The Battle on the Ice music object. It doesn't have a preview in the Popit, and when you attempt to select it the game treats it as a corrupted object and allows you to delete it. When tweaking The Battle on the Ice the Start Point tweak will load forever.

Bug 7 (Continue Music Tweak): The Continue Music tweak does not actually continue the music until the game loads the level. Either it is supposed to do this, but it is labeled incorrectly, or it is broken and should actually continue the music through the loading time.

Bug 8 (Dynamic Thermometer with Object Saver): When the Dynamic Thermometer is enabled and Object Savers are included in a level, the game fails to load the level sometimes when there is data in the level.

Bug 9 (Magic Mouth Recorded speech cutting off in LittleBigPlanet 2 Levels): In LittleBigPlanet 2 levels, the recorded speech of Magic Mouths are cut off at the end.

Bug 10 (Quest Sensor Icon Color doesn't match Logic Color or Colour): Tweaking the Quest Sensor's Logic Color (or Logic Colour for British English) will not change the green trophy icon on the Sensor.

Bug 11 (Missing Physics Properties Tweaker on Objects): The Paintinator Powerup and Scoreboard does not have the Physics Properties tweak which the other objects have.

Bug 12 (Unauthorized DEV ONLY! Objects): Tweaking or highlighting DEV ONLY! Objects cause you to be kicked out and sent to the Pod the first time you do the action in a session.

I'm a beginner creator, so maybe these are just problems with my levels, or intentional by design but:
- Music sequencers don't pause when the game is paused. If they loop while the game is paused they remain completely silent until they loop again
- Sometimes I have a multiplier, and it makes the sound, and I'm not dying, but no multiplier points are added. It seems to me like it happens more often on static score bubbles as opposed to dynamic.

LBP3 has by far the worst create mode of all 3 games. Constantly, all I do is select objects, and they randomly disappear for no reason! Also, the create camera is horrendous. When I try to hover back a few layers, the game won't even follow! When I go to the leftmost wall of create and try to grab some objects, its difficult because the camera won't even adjust to that! Also, I was slicing and dicing and object with a controllinator, and once I was done, the controllinator just randomly disappeared! It's not just create mode too. There are times when pressing circle doesn't help exiting out of a level that's about to load. The game just randomly goes into the level, without any of your output. Honestly, I don't think Sumo knows how to properly create an LBP game. MM could do way better than this! I can't even properly create a level when the game constantly messes up. I never had these problems back in lbp2 and lbp1! I might just stop creating levels if the create mode bugs won't be fixed.

EDIT: I admit I guess I am getting a bit angry, and I'm still grateful to Sumo for making lbp3, but I can't properly play lbp3 when it keeps messing up.

I don't blame you, I'm angry too. I haven't played LBP3 for real since launch. The game is a buggy mess with loads of potential. I refuse to play until I'm confident it is ready, and as of now, it doesn't seem close yet.

As a loyal fan who has been here since the beginning of LBP1, I can't help but be furious and disappointed. My view on my favorite franchise has been tainted.

Another bug occured to me in create mode. I was testing a sackbot and tried to get into a controllinator. I kept pressing triangle but I wasn't able to get inside. This is a bug that should be fixed immediately because I'll be doing a lot of sackbot testing in lbp3.2015-02-28 01:21:00

I've noticed several things:

* when someone hearts you or comments on a level, the Browse Events triangle sends you to your moon instead of theirs, you have to do Community Search to find them
* if a person does not have any published levels, they do not show up in Community Search
* if a person only has a locked level on their moon, searching on them gets you stuck on their page because there is no way to exit
* warning stripes and dented metal material don't have icons in popit
* water projectiles emitted have ugly gray circles around them

I encountered another bug. I was testing a sequencer in create mode, and I had subtitle magic mouths on it. The subtitles wouldn't even show up when I tested them! This is pathetic.

EDIT: I just figured out that disabling controller only works in play mode But I encountered another error in Sumo's creation. In the magic mouth menu, the skippable option appears twice for some reason. I hope Sumo can fix this.

Another bug: When I tried to move a level, it wouldn't work for some reason. Not entirely sure why though.

I just remembered another big one. The lantern power material that is so clearly illuminated in one of my LBP2 levels is almost invisible in LBP3. Only a shadowy outline is visible if you know where to look.

I had some trouble with Cross Controller wormholes in LBP3 too, but it turns out that I am the one person I know who used them in LBP2 without physically wiring the output of the entrance to the input of the exit. They would work without being connected in LBP2 but they must be connected in LBP3 to work. Otherwise, the player enters the entrance but never comes out the exit.
