Custom images and audio?

Archive: 10 posts

I know that you can use the playstation camera to do this, but I have seen some levels where the custom audio is perfect (like the portal 2 map) and maps with custom images and stickers that look too good to have been taken with a camera. Is this the only way to get stuff into the game or is there a secret way of doing this?2014-12-18 01:28:00

For images on PS4 I know you can use the share button to take a pic in a different game and then import that pic into LBP3... Not sure about the audio though I know some people are really talented with the music sequencers.2014-12-18 03:01:00

The only way I know to get custom audio is to record the sound through the magic mouth. Besides that I don't think there are any other options.2014-12-18 03:06:00

Where is the share button at? How do you import? I'm thinking if this is on the PS3 I can swap out the file on my computer

It's a dedicated button on the ps4 controller where select would be on the ps3 controller. It's one of the ps4 exclusive devices in lbp.

For custom images, besides using the camera or Share functionality it's also possible to paint them yourself using the Paint tool.

There are remnants of a scrapped/dev-only function called the "Image Import Tool" that you can find through glitching, but nobody's found any way to actually activate it yet.

How exactly can you import screenshots taken with the share button? I've tried to do this but failed to find any way of doing so?

For me they were just kind of there along with the stickers I took with the ingame camera tool. They were in their own spot until I clicked them and then they moved to the same place as the camera stickers. I'm guessing that was an import. I've only tried it with screenshots I've taken by hitting the share button in LBP3 though: dunno if it works with any you've taken from other games.

Oh and they're MUCH better quality than the ones you can get from the ingame camera. I can't tell if it's full 1080p when imported but it looks very nice. Unfortunately, you can't resize the camera aperture so you're going to get your entire screen including the thermometer if its present, but you can always use it as a brush in the paint tool and then erase the edges or whatever.

I'm sure I'll figure out a way to do it and not be able to post it here again. There is no hiding from JWphotos :/

That would be a correct statement.
