Ingame installation stuck at 50%

Hey guys, I just got a PS4 with the digital edition of LBP3, and the Installing bar on the lower-left hasn't moved past the halfway point at all. It's been a couple hours and I'm kind of worried. It won't let me access any create features, settings, or anything past the prologue world until it's done. Anyone know what to do? Am I just supposed to wait for a reaaaally long time?2014-12-16 02:36:00

You should be able to play it almost immediately. I would close your PS4 down and then reboot. Hopefully it will kickstart the process again.

Also, weirdly enough, every time I start up the game it says "There was a problem with the level you were playing" as if I just came from a level?2014-12-16 02:47:00

Follow this process EXACTLY:

Do this: Turn off your PS4. Unplug it from the internet. Boot it up and uninstall what you have already. Everything in the save game data section and the actual game itself which will be on your XMB (Options button).

Now turn it off again. This time when you turn it on, do it with the button on the console (not the controller) and keep hold of that button until the console beeps twice (think it's about 20 seconds). After that it should boot into safe mode. There will be options there and the one you are looking for is 'Rebuild Database'. Hit that and let it boot up again. Now turn it off once more, plug the internet back in and try downloading LBP3.

Just to be sure, don't start playing it until it's fully downloaded. This might take a while because Sony have throttled the downloads for some reason. I have 100mbs and it still takes a good hour to download a game.

Come to think of it- while I was downloading the game, I went through the store and clicked Download on all the DLC I own to get it ready. Would those impact the ingame installation time but not show up in the install progress bar?2014-12-16 03:09:00

Yes, they could well do that. You can pause each one separately now but I'm not entirely sure a lot of them show up as downloading. Just make the installation of the game as clean and clear as possible. Do as I've suggested, update for LBP1/LBP2 (if you played them) and THEN download the DLC, although I would even hold off on doing that until the next fix hits which should be shortly.

Well, the bar is moving. Extremely slowly. I'm just going to wait because I really don't feel like uninstalling everything or factory resetting my PS4 or whatever.

EDIT: The bar is like, one pixel away from being done now. As a warning to new players: DON'T DOWNLOAD DLC BEFORE YOU'VE PLAYED THE FIRST WORLD. The game will treat your DLC installations as necessary content to play the full game.

Rebuilding the database doesn't set the PS4 back to factory settings, it just makes sure everything is in the right place, a little like defragging.

Hi, I got the downloaded version as well and it took almost 2 full days to download the entire game. Even if it says the game is downloaded the PS4 will still be installing the rest of the game. This is bad even when you consider I have Broadband Cable Internet service. It took a total of almost 3 days to get the entire game downloaded and installed. So all I can say is bide your time it will get there, just be patient. Hint if I had known how long it would take to download now I would have bought the game disc instead LOL .2014-12-16 08:47:00

When I first hooked up my ps4 I downloaded a system upgrade. It was Just a small patch that should have downloaded in minutes. It took two hours. That wouldn't do as I have 60 mbps internet. Turned out it was my wifi. wireless is just too slow as my game room is in the back of the house and my signal isn't great. What I did was run my ps4 wired with Ethernet cable. Thing downloads everything smoking fast now. If anyone is having this problem i suggest going wired. It took me a 50' cable, but I ran it through the basement. Nice and clean...
