Corrupt data. Please help!

Archive: 9 posts

OK I've just been told my save data is corrupt. I tried to copy the data on to an external hard drive but ps3 won't copy it as like it told me before.....its corrupt.

First is there anyway of fixing this. I don't have a backup (I know, I know)
If I choose the delete save data option. Will I still be able to get my levels back from my moon?

I should just lose my costumes and things I've collected.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do to bring the levels on your moon back.

However, perhaps MM can restore your save. At littlebigworkshop, they have published an e-mail address set up especially for receiving corrupted savegames.

Funny enough, the game has just greeted me with a "corrupt save" message as well. I do have a backup but copying it over doesn't help. The system utility says there are two saves in the profile, but I can only see and access one of them - the other, which the game actually uses, is hidden, and I've just reformatted the drive to get rid of it.

I'm not sure if I want to continue playing if I can't get my backup to be accepted by the game. I certainly don't want to play through all of story mode and MGS pack again just to be able to go on creating.

Hi Wexfordian. I had the same problem a few weeks ago whereby my data got corrupted and I couldn't access the pod control and my popit was totally blank. I won't go into all the details as it took days to sort but in the end there was a simple solution which was to just reset the pod decorationTry that first if you haven't already and hopefully it will work for you. It did for me. By the way did you ever get round to playing my 2 player level ?2009-03-04 15:52:00

OMGoodness... these stories give me pause. It has been entirely too long since I made a backup. I must go do this now.2009-03-04 17:07:00

I don't know about Wex but in my case the game hit me with the "corrupt save" message even before the intro video when booting. Not a chance to reset the pod decoration.

It was only the game and not the PS3 that claimed the data to be corrupt. The PS3 would copy the data just fine - it seems your case is different Wex?

Edit: vortex, I had a backup and the game didn't accept it. The backup was from January - I was very surprised to see it fail after actually having worked perfectly well for six weeks! :/

Yeah mine was completly ruined. couldn't touch the data. I ended up downloading a save game from a website. I took me forever to collect 100% of items and I don't think I could face it all again I lost two levels that were on my moon but unpublished but theres no point getting upset about it.

I'll just have to get stuck back into creating!

Did the same and downloaded a save game. Unfortunately I discovered that newly hearted community levels didn't show up in "My levels" when I played the copied save - even though you could see the heart when looking at them in "Recent".

I am fortunate enough to have a very good friend who has done 100% three times - collecting everything is a breeze when you're with him, but having to do it all over still sacks no matter how you look at it.

However, having to replay everything sacks nowhere near as badly as losing more than 100 hours of unpublished work done in create mode. It seems the only safe way of backing up your work is by publishing.

Ah no, I think that is happening to me now also. I hearted one or two levels last night but when i went back to look for them they were gone. If this means I can't see any levels I heart from now on I might just have to bite the bullet and do it all over again. I didn't mind not being able to get the last few trophies because of using the save game but not being able to see your hearted levels is a big deal to me. 2009-03-05 12:12:00
