Walking Along Thin Edges

Afternoon Peeps,

In some of the story levels, Sackthing comes across tiny ledges that stretch for roughly 5 or 6 layers. When approached, Sackthing walks along this without you needing to shift forward or backwards layers... any idea how they did that?

I've a small ledge in my new level, and I have to shift forward layers instead of just walking along them. Any ideas?

Not sure if that's clear enough so let me know if I'm making no sense and I'll elaborate

Haven't tested this but in theory it should work. In the story levels you can only move one way down the ledge so I'll go by that.

Set a broadcast microchip to broadcast to your character, and place some hologram along the edge you want them to move along. Put a tag on it, and place an impact sensor on the broadcast microchip that is set to sense that tag. Place a controllinator and set it to recieving nearest player only, then wire the left analogue sticks Up/Down output into a direction splitter. Place down an advanced in/out mover, and set the speed to 4 and turn "allow pushing" off. Place an AND gate down with 2 inputs, and wire the negative output of the direction splitter and the impact sensor into the AND gate. Then wire the gate into the in/out mover. This should make your sackboy slide forwards through the layers. You can do the same for walking the other way. Just place down another AND gate and another advanced in/out mover and wire them up with the positive output of the splitter instead.

To make him slide along the wall properly, you will want to throw a character animation tweaker and a character rotation tweaker into the mix. If you need help with this let me know!
