I need tag sensors to detect a whole object
Archive: 8 posts
I need my tag sensors to act like impact sensors, where an impact sensor can detect any part of an object that has a certain tag. Right now, a tag sensor can only detect where the tag is. My tag sensor is set at a 10 degree angle, and when it touches a giant square, for example, it needs to activate, no matter where the sensor touches the object. Is it possible? I made the same thing I need with impact sensors and sticker panel, but it takes up more thermo and looks messy in Create. | 2014-12-11 21:26:00 Author: minifat Posts: 75 |
If you are using a square block, put a tag in each corner. | 2014-12-11 22:21:00 Author: Willman4 Posts: 170 |
Would it help to invert things? What if you made a cone of hologram the shape of your tag sensors max detected range put an impact sensor on that and your tags on your objects. .that shouldn't change your thermo. | 2014-12-11 22:35:00 Author: one-mad-bunny Posts: 334 |
That's what I was going to suggest. | 2014-12-12 00:44:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
I am amazed that it takes up so much thermo to really have THAT big of an impact. And a messy look isn't so bad in create mode. Pretty much any good level that uses a good amount of logic, will. | 2014-12-12 10:12:00 Author: Devious_Oatmeal Posts: 1799 |
@Willman4 I'd actually have to place a tag along the whole border of the square instead of just the four corners. I tried this and it seems to work like a charm. The tags take up some space but I'm now planning on using Dynamic Thermo because of it. @one-mad-bunny That's what I had done before. It worked great, but I was having problems with rotating the sticker panel. I've managed some work around, but it's easier with tags so I can just rotate the object. @Devious_Oatmeal I was going to duplicate the sticker panel a bunch, and I was worried about the thermo because I wasn't planning on using Dynamic Thermo at the time because I had some problems (maybe glitches) with it before. I'm giving Dynamic Thermo a try now since it's a different level. | 2014-12-12 16:38:00 Author: minifat Posts: 75 |

Just a heads up. | 2014-12-13 08:11:00 Author: Devious_Oatmeal Posts: 1799 |
