How To Make a Contraption Challenge

Archive: 3 posts

I would like to know if anyone found a way to make a vehicle editor like the Contraption Challenge levels in the story mode. I'm working on making a space level where you can customize your ship like the story level The Wheel Deal in Manglewood. The Popit Powerup is obviously where I start but I have no idea how to make the schematic turn into an actual functioning vehicle elsewhere in the level.2014-12-11 18:36:00

There's a new option on emitters to emit an object within a space in the level. You'll need to capture custom objects, make them prize bubbles within your level, then tweak the popit powerup to allow the custom objects. If you capture items with bolts on them, they can be used to piece something together. The popit power up doesn't allow things to be glued together, so you'll probably need to rely on bolts, motor bolts, spring, bolts, etc. One of your custom pieces will have to contain the controlinator the player would sit in.

The popit power up can be limited to a layer range which is a good idea for usability.

I'm so glad this was as simple as "place a new piece of logic you didn't know existed." I was prepared to have circuit board inception for complex logic I had no business making, lol! Thanks for the help.2014-12-11 19:12:00
