Death By Drowning

I want to create a death by drowning, I've seen the drowning option in the death tweaker. The problem is getting it to activate when coming into contact with a material that has been dephysicalised or has collisions turned off with a physics tweaker. The collision detector doesn't work on something that has been dephysicalised. Any ideas?

PS: My level requires that this material be dephysicalised. Any ideas?

Use some hologram material and set it so that it's invisible. Then just overlap the holo with you dephysicalized material. Holo gets the best of both worlds. It acts like dephysicalized material in that it doesn't hit solid objects, but by using the Include Touching setting on impact sensors it can still be used to detect stuff.
That should work unless I've misunderstood what you're looking for.

I didn't know the touch setting would work with holo!!! That's exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you so much. I'll try it out. (Sure it'll work)

So the holo thing worked when i initially did a little test for it. But when I applied it to my level it didn't work. The impact sensor was picking up the character but the kill tweaker wasn't activating. I guess it had problems picking up the character who activated it.

I ended up having to create a character. On the board I used an impact sensor which could only be activated by an object with a red tag, connected that to the kill tweaker. Then i put a red tag on the holo and voila!!! works. Thanks guys.

For me I just did a broadcaster chip (mode touching) with a kill tweaker set to owner and drowning, then an opacity tweaker to make the material the broadcast chip is on invisible, then I just overlayed dephysicalized, static goo above the killing platform so it looks like you sink in a bit (but of course you land on the below invisible platform and get killed).2014-12-11 17:57:00
