the background on tutorial not available?
Archive: 31 posts
I didn't see any other threads that mentioned this. If there is - please let me know. I just noticed the moon and cloud background on the tutorial sections isn't available as something you can unlock or earn. That would be cool to have as a background on a level. Has anyone else thought that or do you think MM might make it available in the future somehow? Just a thought. | 2009-03-02 02:31:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
They should release it, I would love to use that one!! | 2009-03-02 11:46:00 Author: Zwollie Posts: 2173 |
Yeah, that would be really cool for a dreamy type level. | 2009-03-02 16:00:00 Author: olit123 Posts: 1341 |
Yeah I noticed that too... I never really thought much about it. It would be cool though | 2009-03-04 20:10:00 Author: FlameAtNight Posts: 405 |
I actually never noticed, but now when you mention it, yeah, I totally agree. | 2009-03-07 22:29:00 Author: BlackHairedGoon Posts: 160 |
Can't say I've ever reallt noticed before (since I haven't played the tutorials for AGES), but this background does look kinda cool. MM should unlock it for creators. | 2009-03-08 20:35:00 Author: Entity Posts: 274 |
well, maybe that background is a different size then other backgrounds... like the backgrounds they have fit an entire empty level, while that may only fit the spot for tutorials, so if they do that they would have to make the rest of the background that you can't see in the tutorials? | 2009-03-08 20:39:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
I never noticed that the background is different......... | 2009-03-08 22:04:00 Author: DRT99 Posts: 431 |

Probably the case, ye, anybody ever tried to run to the limits of a tutorial level? And I don't recall anything about this tutorial background XD.. | 2009-03-08 22:52:00 Author: Pinchanzee Posts: 805 |

Good point - didn't think of that. I'll have to go see how big the area is.... more info to come.... EDIT: It's a full size blank level. It's really foggy and blue and the background only appears in the center from the looks of it. I did notice it has it's own ambient soundtrack too. Sort of a windy sound with very quiet birds I think. Must be it's own template. | 2009-03-09 00:12:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Yeah, different level sizes would be nice. | 2009-03-09 16:39:00 Author: DRT99 Posts: 431 |
Yes, i've noticed the tutorial having a different background th the actual background is just those clouds and stuff in there, the rest is blank, in other words, its just a blanck template with an object i the middle as background, maybe if they made a custom version that reaches through the whole place then yeah it would be cool to have. | 2009-03-17 23:58:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Even if it was just that small part it could be cool for survival challenges. | 2009-03-18 01:18:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
im not sure if its in all tuts, but it you keep walking, NEW DREAM TYPE THING MUSIC STUFF! <3 theres this dremy type music dang morgan got it first | 2009-03-21 17:26:00 Author: kodymcq Posts: 281 |
I was wondering the same... why didn't they put it in?? It's so awesome! | 2009-03-21 20:25:00 Author: Yarbone Posts: 3036 |
If they made the background full of decoration then this would be cool to have. I think Mm should put it in a future update. Anyways, I've gotta see how the background's fully like myself. | 2009-03-24 22:23:00 Author: lk9988 Posts: 1077 |
I think it is that the background isn't designed for a full level, there are only background decorations in the middle of the level. | 2009-04-04 20:12:00 Author: tjb0607 Posts: 1054 |
The background is a small portion of the background of the level. It is made up of clouds and the moon sticker which are available in regular create mode BUT these decorations are in the background plane. If you wanted to recreate the background in regular create mode it would eat up about three layers of space so having it in the background you get the look without using the space. It's not a major thing - but I was puzzled why it wasn't made available like all the other backgrounds from story mode. | 2009-04-04 20:17:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
I had thought about this before. I really like the background, but there must be some reason Mm didn't include it. Right? | 2009-04-06 03:56:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
Must be. Maybe they figured since it was a small background no one would want it but I would | 2009-04-06 06:12:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
A really nice background to have would be a grid so when in create mode we could size things up roughly and keep it organic rather than having to use the actual grids. | 2009-04-06 22:20:00 Author: Shermzor Posts: 1330 |
No Morgana, I was mistaken. I thought they had used a new background in the tutorial levels for the create pack. When I checked it was the same as the tutorial ones, I had'nt seen them in ages. Its still not included for us to use. Check page two of the create pack thread | 2009-04-23 19:03:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Dang - My bad I guess - I was too jazzed about it! | 2009-04-23 19:10:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
I would like the music though | 2009-04-24 17:53:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
****it, that background would be perfect for my Gothic Reverie level. I created a night sky using over 200 dark matter star shapes, but that background would let me take them all out and have extra thermo to work with. I seriously hope it's gonna be available soon. | 2009-04-24 18:12:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
I want the music as well. If my knowledge is correct it's My Advice- Part 3 by the Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra. If not, Part 2 or Part 1. | 2009-04-24 20:27:00 Author: Breezy-The-Pro Posts: 134 |
Even if it was just that small part it could be cool for survival challenges. They should work with the background so its upper part is coverd with cosmo/star suitable for space theme level. While the lower has dream theme kinda. They should definetly unlock this in an future expansion like the Metal Gear one. Were player could find real teleports/Beamers/ and maybe lazers (wich isnt to neccesary since plasma balls and paintator fills the needs. So they should make new materials new stickers the new background a gravity manipulation tool ( wich would take alot of kunning to use correctly. Considering that everything in the level will float away lol) A beamer that can draw or reppell players and objects temporary making them immune to the power of gravity. Maybe allso magnets would be a good idea. Since space themed levels are so populair. I really can't see why they dont make it. For exampel a cosmo sticker with lots of stars and stuff on it and more planet stickers/sun and space craft stickers would definetly make it alot easier to create alot better space themed levels. And yeah of course some nice space themed music too =) What are they waiting for lol they will earn like atleast 10 times whatever it costs producing it XD | 2009-04-24 21:40:00 Author: Unknown User |
I agree - in future they should do a "spacey" one. The tutorial one is about as close as we could get right now but - yea - if they added more stars it would be more useful. Good Idea. | 2009-04-26 06:51:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
I'd actually rather have the music than the background, but that would be nice as well. And everything doubletime said would be awesome! Create Pack 2 anybody? | 2009-04-26 15:42:00 Author: crazymario Posts: 657 |
Update about the music: 1) If you go to Creator Pack 1 in the Tetherless Jetpack tutorial, right underneath where you get the jetpack is a small hole in the gas. 2) Follow the path and you will come across the ambient music. 3) Select the sticker in the music box with the sticker lasso tool, flip it upside down, and press R3 to invert it. 4) Stick it on the pillar and you can see what it's called! Pretty cool Easter Egg huh? (Credit to Daniel and Austin from LittleBigPodcast for finding this!) | 2009-05-03 23:29:00 Author: SawronZXZ Posts: 463 |
I'm going to have to check that out - cool! | 2009-05-03 23:59:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
