New Problem since patch !

Archive: 13 posts

Ok here it is. Downloaded the patch installed it and alot of stuff got fixed however a new create glitch has cropped up for me . I placed material and attempted to use the Slice and Dice tool the tool cursor began to vibrate onscreen and proceeded to go up by itself and couldn't move it in any direction. This is also occurring with the Corner Edit tool. I think im giving up on this game until it's working better. I stated before that a bigger Beta with more people would have found most of these glitches and could have made for a better game all around. But apparantly Sumo Digital wanted to cash in before the Holiday season and decided to put out a decidedly mostly there game. MM should have taken the lead on this game instead of just consulting with Sumo Digital. The idea is there, the concept is there, but the game is not. I'm not pouting about not being on the Beta and the Beta participants did a good job on finding the glitches that they did find, but apparantly Sumo Digital didn't listen and just released what they had which is a half done game. I would have been happy if Sumo Digital had delayed the game and fixed what was broken before they released this debacle of a game.2014-12-08 01:13:00

This glitch existed before the patch. It's a simple occurrence, you're zoomed too close in. The best workaround for now is, unfortunately, keeping a distance of maybe a 5 layer zoom away.2014-12-08 19:09:00

Just a tip, take a break from LBP3 and come back after a while, this is only if you want to save yourself from frustration and hassle. Stuff will be patched and fixed but it will take time so enjoy other games meanwhile before you encounter something worse. This is just a suggestion, you can do whatever you like.2014-12-08 20:17:00

well, I don't know too much about international law...but not having the features promised in a product... I think it qualifies as scam.
and no it's not the fault of the customer, in this case what proceed is an apology from the developer and publisher and a compensation (aside from fix the game).

I believe neither has been given from nothing I've seen.

yep,
but Ubisoft offered apologies and free DLC as compensation, for their broken AC Unity
and Blizzard made similar statements and offered compensation, for the broken expansion Warlords of Draenor... what's the deal with Sumo and Sony?

You're using Ubisoft as an example? Really. That's like saying: 'The chef knew the food wasn't cooked well. But he served it anyway, knowing he'd have to cook it again. This time for free and getting a thanks.'

Sumo I think honestly was pressured into releasing the game by Sony. But then again, why wouldn't Sumo say no. Then understand there selling a clearly flawed product to fans, loyal fans, who are going to buy the game. Though they know it's broken. I don't trust Sumo Digital, it's like United Front Games. We were given broken games, but LBP3 has quality behind the broken-ness. The story levels are tight, and the new tools are good, but there aren't enough. Maybe content has been cut.

Not forgetting the 10 day delay in Europe.

You say I should just play something else while Sumo Digital fixes their mistakes? Are you going to pay for a new radio and get it home just to find out it's broken then go do something else while it's being fixed? Look Game Developers today want to make money, I understand that, however when your paying $60.00 for a game you want it to work, sure sometimes a minor glitch or two happens, it happens, I understand that too, but this game has major issues, game breaking issues that should have been fixed before it was shipped.

I have been with the LBP franchise since day one and yes I am a dedicated fan of LBP. But what Sumo Digital did was more akin to a scam artist than a game developer, just trying to scam thousands out of their hard earned money by selling an inferior product. Don't get me wrong however.

Sumo Digital did some things right, the Story mode is good but could have been better with more levels featuring all the characters not just on one story level at the end of story mode.
The new tools are great however in the PS3 version the only way for them to access the tutorials for the new tools is to go to LBP.me and watch them there, PS4 owners get them all with the game, even though it takes 10 minutes just to load 1 tutorial video.
The online lag is horrible, game divergence, failure to load player profiles and levels, is a complete game breaker for me. The fundamental base of the game is for players to get together to play, create, and share of which you currently cannot do simply because it's broken. In my opinon IGN's review of LBP3 is spot on and deserved the 6.3 review score.
I think the biggest deal breaker for me is when the game itself corrupted my player profile and I wound up losing weeks of work on my new level and had to start over from scratch. Over half my LBP2 levels are unplayable because LBP3 doesn't recognize most of LBP2 logic and says that I cannot edit them because I don't own several DLC packs which I do.
So you see my point now. I spend several weeks to 3 months or more working on levels for the LBP community to enjoy and because of Sumo Digital's lack of simply actuality properly testing this game. If this is their example of what a game is then I will never buy another game made by Sumo Digital.

I totally agree, and I want my official apology and compensation too. I encountered more than 95 glitches, is not an unfinished game...is half game in beta stage disguised as a complete product.

While I do agree that LBP3 should have been released in late 2015, there is nothing to do about it other then just making these threads. Even if they read these, I don't think they will learn their lesson. It is what it is, the only realistic thing to do is to wait it out and hope for some compensation. The disappointment will remain for a good while, that is a sure thing.2014-12-09 07:27:00

This actually happened to me in LBP2 last month. So it's not exclusive to LBP3.2014-12-09 10:10:00

Let's not overreact, alright? It would be a scam if they put out a product that doesn't work with no intent of fixing problems (like LBP Karting I guess ). The game obviously needed some more test/debug time, but plenty of people have finished the game, so it's not like it doesn't work at all. I don't think this falls under international law, and national law (at least over here) only requires faulty products to be fixed within reasonable time, which is what Sumo is doing.

And why are there still people who don't make regular backups? Especially with all the posts about profile corruption. Seriously, it's not that hard or time consuming.

Hello everyone ! I?m new here...

Well I find it very interesting, that people are blameing Sumo digital! Thats in my eyes really naive.

Of course I understand that it's about time commitment from the fans/us who spends alot of time makeing levels and stuff, and people get disappointed and somtimes angry.

But the way I see it this is obviously a decision made by Sony, not Sumo Digital.

Sony need their family friendly game released in time for Christmas (in a business perspective you can't change that date, I guess)

To further that, they also need to maximize the audience, so make it for PS4 AND PS3 (so the kids can play in their own rooms) while the parents can play more "mature" experiences on their brand "new" PS4 in the living room.

In a nutshell: Sony pressured Sumo to the max! (as SEWO97 said) It's all business...sadly

I think we all would love to see Sumo Digtal do an honest postmortem of LBP3.
I guess they had some wonderful crunch time!

Well, well, that's my thoughts...
Take care!
