[EDIT] The flashdrive strategy does not work! I downloaded my LBP3 save onto the flash drive and when I tried to copy it onto the alternate account, the PS4 says there is no data. The back-up can only be used on the original. I'm furious! Because LBP3 only recognizes your LBP2 data by pins, my alternate accounts that use imported profiles cant import my data! The LBP1 data can transfer beccause it doesn't use pins, however LBP2 cannot. Thats ALOT of stuff thats gone! Please I need help. I need my alternate account for future levels and without my stuff, I cant make anything. It's basically saying I never owned LBP3 on the alt. A friend of mine is having the same issue. He recently imported his 100% Completion LBP2 data to another account due to a PS3 Format and now he pretty much lost his entire LBP2 game. Why did the Devs have to do something so foolish?? LBP1 doesn't require pins so why does LBP2? they don't even have any worth. They need to fix this. I'm sure tons of people are having the same issue. Help...

Back up your profile on main, use PS save tools to transfer to alt, restore backup on alt?

For PS4? The LBP2 progress wasn't traced at all in LBP3 because it goes by pins. So I'm trying to find some answers or solutions or help on my situation. Like I stated in my original post, the friend of mine, basically lost all of his LBP2 data not because it was corrupted, but because LBP3's data search system is flawed. In LBP2, the alt accounts we created worked. But it gave that message. the message talking about the pins and trophies and stuff. Saying you cannot gain ANYMORE pins or trophies by playing on the account. It did not say your pins are gone.

No, I mean copying your LBP3 data to the alternate account with all your previous content already unlocked.

I'm confused on what you mean. If I transfer my LBP3 data onto an alt, it wont make a difference in terms of my LBP2 data. It will not read pins at all. Thats all I need. My Alts can function properly with LBP1 and 3 data. LBP2 is whats gone.

...but your LBP3 profile owns the appropriate unlocks, and thus copying the profile to your alt account will still have them unlocked, since you don't exactly need to recheck pins every time you start up the game.

So... if I get my main LBP3 file... back it up.. put it on the alt.. go on the game.. the locked stuff... will already be unlocked.. you're saying?

Should be; I'm pretty sure unlocks from previous games do the exact same thing data-wise as just getting the prize bubbles in the first place.

I see what you mean now. Thats the whole problem. Thats actually not how it works. Only LBP1 works that way.

So you've tried porting your already-unlocked LBP3 profile over to your alt and it doesn't have anything unlocked from LBP2 even though it should be the exact same data?

basically lost all of his LBP2 data not because it was corrupted, but because LBP3's data search system is flawed. I don't know if this is the right word. The game searches a player's details from SEN based on your account name. Saying that this if flawed because it doesn't search different SEN name is in itself flawed. Instead of importing from the import, open LBP3 profile that you actually used to make the progress. Then back up this profile, but the other alternative is to play the content again on the account you plan to use to create in LBP3. You don't need to ace anything, just complete it, it may take a good part of the day, but this may be faster than trawling the Internet looking for a 'fast' workaround. It's not something to get furious about. If it's an alt just create on your primary, and move the backed up level over to publish. A lot of people created alts to have multi level stuff, but keep in mind that you can load many levels into an adventure hub, and have lots of adventure hubs, so you may not even need an alt to overcome the limitation. The LBP3 file size is 500mb initially, which I am guessing is mostly empty space allocated for future saving to counteract having to preform full re writes of a profile all the time. It also may be padding to stop people from sending profiles to other people or between alts. Maybe one of the reasons for alt accounts deactivating pins is because this is not an intended feature that developer wants. It also stops lazy trophy hunters, and game sharing and other potential shenanigans. Example; I could just send you my LBP2 profile and you could unlock all the content from 2 games you didn't buy.

Thank you for your input. I hope that works. I just got mad when I turned on the game on my alternate account and saw that I could only retrieve my LBP1 items and not the LBP2 items. I tried and tried to figure out the issue myself but couldn't get it. Thats why I turned to the forums for some help. I already have databases set up all over in on the alt's planet so its creations are safe.

Just found my friend today wearing the Metal Gear Solid 4 costumes, Final Fantasy, Shadow of Colossus and many more costumes that I for some reason don't have. How about that? Whats up with that? He has waaaaay more DLC than me but I bought the DLC too!

Sumo have been franticly adding costumes and DLC back into the game, and stuff becoming available again, I have auto DL on PS4 set up, so I currently have my costumes set to 'newest' as there is lot coming in. The MGS4 stuff is new purchase. I didn't get it in game, but rather through the PS store by looking at add ons for LBP3
