Does anyone feel like, not compelled to create anything?

I just feel like with online problems and what not, any time spent creating would be a waste, I feel people won't be able to play it, or it will be bugged, or something will happen to destroy my work (my moon was empty one day, just.. all gone, the vehicles I created for my level were lost to the ether, also my songs). I was at least able to play through the game, not getting all the bubbles because of online problems.. This is sad to me too because this was a game I thought would be my main source of gaming time for a while.2014-12-06 03:48:00

I am waiting until the 16th or until all the DLC content is fixed before creating.2014-12-06 03:54:00

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a feeling most have. I know I have a bit of it myself, but I have mostly focused on just testing things out in create before doing any major projects. For me, online never was a major factor, at least, I never really made anything with others, nor do I want to on this game. Maybe... That may be due to not finding anyone yet that I would want to create with, or that would want to work on something.

But, due to this fear of losing anything major, I might just kill time reviewing levels or working on a system for some sort of... Quick-review-list-of-levels-I-like. Kind of like the spotlight, but I can do more at one time and nowhere near as big as those. Maybe once in a while I'll be like, "This level I REALLY really liked, so this review will be longer than others."

Actually i feel more motivated then ever to work on my levels. LBP3 opened up many possibilites that I just could not do half as good or as easily on LBP2. I don't care about the online problems. and as for stuff disappearing goes... that's why we make sure to back-up anything even half important to us often, which is something i've been used too since LBP1 myself, you can never fully trust these games. And imo my works are never a waste of my time even if they end up getting zero attention from others, i create stuff for my own joy mainly anyways. *mew2014-12-06 10:15:00

In LittleBigPlanet 1, everything just feels fun. I could play any level with friends and have a great time. 2 is somewhat like this, but the lagginess and the game as a whole just doesn't feel polished, but it's still got its moments. With 3, everything's so complex and there's so much that you can do that I don't even feel like creating anything when I'm on my own and the game's only fun with friends, sometimes. I don't know what's wrong with the second two games, but they certainly aren't as polished as the first. I can't go back to LBP1 because there's certain tools that ARE useful, like sackbots and UV tools and advanced glue etc, but it just feels so much fun.2014-12-06 22:01:00

Sounds like you just haven't spent enough time with LBP2.

Not completely. I've been creating for hours and hours these past few days. I'm pretty sure as long as I back my level up it will be safe.

I'm avoiding certain tools though. More than once after using the Shardinator I froze.

I've paused myself from working on my project due to lack of required tools not working or simply just not present in LBP3 yet. The main tool I'm trying to get to work is the object saver, which gives me errors every time. The missing tool that I thought would be in LBP3 is the advance notepad from the vita. These two tools alone plays in huge role in my project, without them, I just can't be bothered even trying, which is disappointing. In my opinion, at this point, I believe LBPVita is by far still the best in the series. The tools they have in LBPVita caters more to me than LBP3. Once they can implement Vita's tools to LBP3, I would more than be incline to change my vote to the latter. Til then, it will just sit on the shelf collecting dust.2014-12-07 05:41:00

I don't feel compelled to make anything serious no. I don't even have access to most of the sound effects so really I can't make anything because it would be a pain for me to add them in later. It seems like everything I mess with has a glitch too. Hey the deco mount! Oh... it's partially visible in play. New bots! Oh... absolute loop doesn't work. Stickers in dust material! Oh... but custom stickers aren't working. I can use attract material now! Oh... but I can't use the attract tweaker because I don't have the muppet pack. Huh? Beyond the glitches I'm still figuring out how things work. There are simply not enough tutorials to teach you about the new tools and how everything really functions, especially when it comes to the adventure maps.

I am having fun just making stuff though. Don't make levels, just make things for fun or things you can use in levels in the future.

My PS3 froze twice today in create mode, so badly that I had to manually shut it off which caused me to have to send an error report and wait for the PS3 to system check and rebuild the database... So no, not too tempted to create much right now... I just hope this stuff gets fixed soon.2014-12-08 04:40:00

My PS3 has frozen in create mode around 30 times.

Half my level I was building with a dynamic thermo magically disappeared (including the backup).

In the level I restarted after that, I'm stuck as a custom sackbot that can't fly, and my PS3 freezes any time I try to switch back to default sackboy.

So yeah, my desire to create is getting dampened a bit.

I wouldn't use the dynamic thermo if i were you, at least not as a standard while building, instead build any of your level segments in separate levels and later copy the parts into a main level where you want to use the dynamic thermo.... basically only use the dynamic thermo as the final place to place everything together and not as a default when building content in general. *mew

And far as the sackbot problem... are you the sackbot even while in your pod or just while in a single level?

I stopped using dynamic thermo after that occurred, I was using it before most people were voicing problems with it on the forums.

I was testing a custom sackbot on the level I was building (spawning as it through the entry gate) then after going back to create mode, my player was set as that custom sackbot. My PS3 froze whenever I tried to switch back to default. Whenever I loaded back into create mode with that level I spawned as that custom sackbot.

I already restored from a backup, but lost a decent amount of work in the process.

Ah shame to hear ya lost some of ya work. But yeh maybe somebody should make a warning list of content to be careful with. because it's bit dangerous right now to play with changing the character type you play as. I mostly make sackbot levels even now still so i don't have to deal with it much myself, but i'd feel little uneasy using the option even if i wanted to as it is currently without backing up everytime right before i do it. *mew

It's getting pretty frustrating. Anyways, thanks for trying to help.
