Gradual Light at certain frequencies
Archive: 5 posts
So I have a part in my level where I have a platform that moves every 5 seconds. The light color starts read and whenever it moves I want the light to gradually change to green color, but once movement stops I want it to gradually change back red until the platform moves again. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to do this but am having major trouble finding a viable answer. | 2014-12-06 02:49:00 Author: jjdragon Posts: 257 |
You could use two dephysicalyzed lights, one red, one green, in the same spot. If your platform uses a piston you could use the output from the piston to activate the lights and set them to dimmer. | 2014-12-06 06:18:00 Author: MisterPotatoHed Posts: 21 |

What about if it's a material? Like changing the color of a material gradually from one to the other on certain times? | 2014-12-06 06:24:00 Author: jjdragon Posts: 257 |
Set the ON color of the material to either red or green, and the OFF to the other. Attach an analog signal to the object, and set the input type to "Dimmer". That should fade between the ON and OFF states depending on the signal you send it. | 2014-12-06 07:55:00 Author: tdarb Posts: 689 |
What tears said. Either light or material needs to be in dimmer state. For the shake of simplicity, set on to green and off to red (full brightness). Connect a speed sensor to the light/material with speed set to 1. Unfortunately this works in real time. If you need the light green before even the platform starts you might add a bit more logic though this won't greatly enhance gameplay. | 2014-12-06 08:08:00 Author: zupaton Posts: 167 |
