Do I need to use the 'Unlock' feature if my LBP1/2 profile is already imported? (PS3)

I'm just wondering if it's redundant and unnecessary to use the 'Unlock LBP1 and LBP2 collectibles' in the start menu since the profile importing works now. Are they practically the same thing?

And why was this unlock feature even on the PS3 version in the first place? For those who lost their LBP1/2 PS3 data?

If you have access to your profile then you won't need to use those options.2014-12-04 21:57:00
