Patch 1.03 Available

Archive: 170 posts


This can't be the original patch because I've already installed that. On beginning the game I was greeted with a 'patch now available' sign and on quitting out saw a patch of 369.1mb downloading. Go get it folks.

Santa costume is also available although it's a bit odd it takes up two slots in my costume section: One for the beard and hat and another for his jacket and trousers.

Summary



LittleBigPlanet 3 Game Update 1.03 includes a number of fixes to improve the overall game stability throughout the main Adventure and increase general performance and functionality in a number of other key areas raised by the community. This update will also provide you with most of your missing LittleBigPlanet 2 Story Mode Content and LittleBigPlanet 3 Sound Objects, provided you have met the criteria to unlock them.

Important Patch Download Information for PlayStation 4 Users



Due to the way that PlayStation 4 updates software in the background, some players are encountering issues with game progression by attempting to access content that is not ready to be used.



To avoid encountering issues, we recommend that you check your Download Status before starting LittleBigPlanet 3.



This can be achieved by highlighting LittleBigPlanet 3 on the PlayStation 4 Home Screen, pressing Options on your controller and selecting Information.



The following screen will inform you of your current download status.



If the Download Status displays that the Download Progress and Download Size are the same (E.g. 1.2GB/1.2GB), your game is ready to launch with all of the features available to you upon arriving in your Pod.

General



General Fixes


?Fixed an issue that could cause severe Popit lag, if the player has a large number of Share screenshots saved in their PS4 Capture Gallery.
?Fixed an issue that prevents players from being able to place down Stickers.
?Fixed an issue that may cause the game to freeze when importing a LittleBigPlanet or LittleBigPlanet 2 Profile on PlayStation 3.
?Numerous improvements to the handling of save data to improve general stability.
?Collecting Collectabells from a Community Level will no longer add to the Collectabell total for the main Adventure.
?Sending an Invite Request or a Join Request to another user will now send them the correct notification to allow them to accept or decline this request.
?All users will now be able to see the correct chat indicator when a user is entering text.
?Updated the Wonderplane Wanderer Trophy?s description to be more accurate across localisations.

LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2 Content


?Using Unlock LittleBigPlanet 2 Content in your Pause Menu will now import the majority of your earned LittleBigPlanet 2 Content.
Note: A number of items will still be missing after this import; these will become available in a future update.



UI Update


?Community levels published in LittleBigPlanet 2 now display an appropriate icon to distinguish them from LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 3 levels.

Miscellaneous


?Improved audio synchronisation with subtitles across a number of localisations.

Game Stability



General


?Fixed a number of stability issues that may cause the game to freeze on a loading screen when a network error occurs.
?Improved stability of the Community UI when browsing levels to prevent the game freezing.

Adventure Hubs


?A number of improvements have been made to the Dynamic Thermometer functionality of our Adventure mode?s hub levels to improve functionality and general stability. This includes the saving the state of Manglewood Swamp with the rare ?broken bridge? occurrence.
Note: If you have encountered this Manglewood Swamp issue. You will need to delete your Adventure Save Data since the Manglewod Swamp level will be saved in this broken state.
?Fixed a game divergence issue caused by frequent and rapid use of the Character Changer.
?Fixed an infinite loading loop that could be caused by using the Grief Report tool and then entering a level whilst in an Adventure Hub.

Adventure ? Prologue ? Newton?s Airship


?Fixed a divergence issues that may occur when playing Newton?s Airship with multiple players.

Adventure ? Prologue ? Tinpot Towers/A Night on the Tiles


?Fixed an issue that you would prevent the story from progressing after the prologue, if the player skips the cutscene after the Prologue?s boss.

Adventure ? Manglewood Swamp


?Numerous stability fixes to prevent the game from freezing when loading in and out of the Manglewood hub level.
?Fixed a game freezing issue that may occur when trying to spawn from a specific Checkpoint.
?The six Collectabells that may disappear after entering the Back in the Saddle level link will no longer disappear.

?Fixed an issue where the player would not respawn after being killed by the ?trick? Velociporter.

?Fixed an issue that caused the level to disappear if an Online Player uses the Rewind function of the Popit Powerup whilst the Host Player does not have the Popit Powerup equipped.

?Players can no longer escape from the level?s boundaries by remaining on the wooden pillar after the 2nd rocket has been fired at the Titan.

Popit Puzzle ? Popit Academy Term 2 ? Velociporters and Teleporters


?Fixed a level escape that allowed players to exit the level area.

Create Mode



My Moon


?Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the game to freeze when backing up a level on your Moon.
?Fixed an error that occasionally prevented the player?s own Level Backups from being imported.

?The full range of LittleBigPlanet 3 Sound Objects will now be usable in LittleBigPlanet 3.
?Fixed a divergence issue caused when the Host Player repeated Pauses and Un-pauses the Create Mode session.
?The Broadcast Microchip will now correctly save any tweaks that are applied to it.


DLC Fixes



More Stories ? History Kit ? Step Through Time


?The Goodies and Prizes percentage will now correctly update for this level.

Costume ? Knights of Old: Misunderstood Dragon (Green)


?Selecting the green Misunderstood Dragon Costume will now apply the Misunderstood Dragon Skin as part of the costume.



Costume ? Mythical Creatures: Minotaur Costume


?The Minotaur Skin is now available to be selected from the Materials page of the Customise Character menu and the in-game Store.



Backwards Compatibility


?Numerous fixes for previously released LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2 Level Packs as part of an on-going effort to make these packs available to play in LittleBigPlanet 3 at a later date.
Note: These packs are currently unavailable to re-download for LittleBigPlanet 3.






Known Issues



We will continue to release updates to fix known issues overtime and to improve game stability for everybody.

Listed below are a few of the high-frequency issues affecting a large number that we?re aware of and actively working to resolve in an upcoming update.



Note: If possible, a known workaround is also provided to help you circumvent the issue until we can roll-out a proper fix for the issue.


?End of Level Completion Prizes not appearing in Popit
Players Popits are not updating with the rewards for Level Completion, Level Acing and 100% Prize Bubble Collection.

Issue Workaround:
Within your Pause Menu, scroll down to Profile and enable ?Collect Community Prizes?.
This will allow you to collect your prizes for completing a level until we can roll-out a proper fix.
?Pressing L3 in Create Mode Affects All Players
Pressing L3 to enter Preview Mode activates everyone?s Preview Mode instead of enabling it for just the activating player.

Issue Workaround:
Enabling ?Preview? in the Pause Menu will not affect other users.


?Hearting Tools adds them to the Popit outside of Create Mode
Whilst Hearting a number of Tools will add them to your Popit outside of Create Mode, they are entirely non-functional.




LittleBigPlanet DLC Issues and Other PlayStation Store Issues



Missing Purchased DLC



We are aware that a large number of LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2 DLC items are not available to purchase or are unavailable to re-download if previously purchased.



Our goal is to have all of these issues resolved by December 16th and we will provide further updates on any significant progress in re-enabling this content for you.

Due to the DLC issues we have been having and since some countries are still waiting to access the Rare LittleBigPlanet 3 T-Shirts and LittleBigPlanet 3 Launch Spacesuits, we will be indefinitely extending the release of these rare items until we are 100% certain that they are available in all countries.



Once we have confirmed that the content can be accessed by everyone, we will release a further announcement to provide everyone the full details of when the content will be removed from the Store.



At the time of that announcement, you will get at least one full week?s notice of our planned schedule to remove the content from the Store and the specific date that we plan to do so.

Yay! It seems to have fixed the Sackpocket/Organisertron bug (where entering a community level with sackpocket enabled without playing a story level first will fill the sackpocket/organisertron with story mode items/quests.)

I've also noticed LBP2 community levels now have a little green badge.

Yup, got a download file as soon as I turned my ps4 on. I'm curious as to what was fixed. Guess we will find out shortly.

I thought it was weird that in the middle of create mode, I froze and came back to see it requires a patch... I thought the patch was the probable cause for my crash but clearly this update has been available for over an hour now. Here's hoping it at least fixes crashes and others being unable to collect prize bubbles instead of just the host.2014-12-04 01:59:00

I was able to re-import my LBP1&2 profiles and the costumes showed up. Still have weird "some material" blocks in my popit. though.

An extra bit that wasn't specifically mentioned in the patch notes.

The last level in the D.C. pack is playable now. Just managed to finish it. Still no sign of the memorizer though. Maybe I'm just missing something?

I've imported my profile 8 times. LBP1 sounds show up and a few LBP3 sounds. But LBP2 sounds are not there at all. The most jarring is in the monster sounds. No negativitron roars. or anything. Cross control sounds are still gone. I'm not sure how to fix this. PS: i use the PS3 version2014-12-04 03:24:00

Nope, they haven't been added.

It says that they have in the patch notes, but I don't have any of them.

Does anyone have a link to the patch notes that works? I need so I can post the source on another website I'm a member at. I know they are listed in the spoiler tag here, but I need a link to the source as well.

Looks like the marvel pack is playable now as well. Just got through the first two levels when I couldn't even start them before.

Magic mouth subtitles still seem broken. They work, but only for about a second before they disappear, no matter what you do to them.


That link DreJ12 posted to the patch notes says something about an authentication error.

Does anyone have a link to the patch notes that works? I need so I can post the source on another website I'm a member at. I know they are listed in the spoiler tag here, but I need a link to the source as well.

Some of the sounds brought over from LBP2 are really messed up. The labels of those sounds are all from alerts. Looking though the list I brought over Cross-Controller, History Kit, and Nightmare B4 Xmas are affected (Cross controller's sounds are almost all labeled "Alert")

So its now harder dealing with sounds

So i read the patch notes, am I right that everybody who has a broken Adventure level has to delete their adventure Save and start again? That's great, and when I get a bug that was not fixed I have to start again the next patch comes out... Yeah... I started 5 times and although I had a backup everytime I have bugs I realize later when they are saved and the Adventure is broken...2014-12-04 05:37:00

Well this is definitely good news to hear. Perhaps not entirely what some wanted to hear regarding their own needs, but it's definitely better than nothing.

Since the patch some DLC I paid for in LBP2 is available to download. So i read the patch notes, am I right that everybody who has a broken Adventure level has to delete their adventure Save and start again? That's great, and when I get a bug that was not fixed I have to start again the next patch comes out... Yeah... I started 5 times and although I had a backup everytime I have bugs I realize later when they are saved and the Adventure is broken...

Your wording makes me think that you may be deleting you profile and starting from scratch, so I just wanted to note that deleting your adventure save is different to deleting your entire profile, if that is what you are referring to.

If you delete an adventure save it resets any permanent save things in that adventure alone, but doesn't wipe your progress on everything else, like the other adventures and such.

It seems safe. I had nearly no bugs, except the sticker bug and Zom Zom disappearing in Manglewood, which didn't matter since he'se only there for dialogue. It really depends how many bugs you encounter, there's a lot of them which is disappointing, but it's not as worse as said, you'll most likely only encouter a few like i did. I use the unlock LBP2 button again, and a few extra costumes turned up. I don't have any other issues with playability, but reading through the patch notes there sure seems to be a lot of fixes so lots of hard work kudos to sumo folks.

The left over things are only mild nuances now I hope. Still don't think my DLC stuff is working 100% yet, but I don't think we will be left out in the cold on that

Tag sensor colours are still messed up for me, blue is pink, green is yellow and so on. The tag sensor still works for blue and green but their colour in game are different. All tags have the right colour.
Ex. The tag sensor is set to be blue and it works with blue tags but the sensor's colour in game is pink.
The only colour working is red.

It;s interesting. It seems a few of the things they say are patched are not for many, it not all people. The most notable is the lack of sound objects.

It makes me wonder if they are getting different results "in the lab" than we are in the real wolrd. It would explain why many of the bugs we were reporting in the beta were not fixed for release.

I have seen alot of complaining, but what drives me bonkers is corruption, which since this update, I have not seen anyone complain about yet. Just minor things here and there, which is a good sign of progress. Game breaking bugs i fully understand, but the minor ones arent bad enough to say, tell me when all the bugs are fixed so I can buy the game o.O.

Its a sandbox game, imo shouldve been a tad more ready, but looking hopeful to playing it around xmas

PS4 version bugs found since patch. I'm only about 40% through the story but I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs in the story before or after the patch. Most of my bugs are general or create mode issues.

1: Still have just the basic sounds categories, seems like only LBP 1 sounds.

2: Infinite (or at least rediculously long) loading screen usually only on the first level I load after starting the game. If I restart the game it usually works fine after.

3: Tag sensor colors are messed up although they work properly, they display the wrong colors. This seems to be pretty common but is it working right for some people on PS4?

4: More of my collectibles from LBP 1 and 2 were unlocked but now I have a few materials and objects that I haven't actually unlocked from LBP 2 which must be aced level gifts since thats all I had left to do. I read somewhere that unlocking of items works off your pins but it can't be the best or most accurate way of doing this. Not that I'm complaining about the extra items but still seems like there could be a better way to handle this and also allow people to unlock DLC items without replaying them. I'm sure it has been mentioned before but a way to play through the lbp 2 story mode on lbp 3 (ps4) would be great.

5: My 2 adventure map levels that were previously overwritten by a glitched pod level are still there. Since I don't know what triggered it in the first place I can't test to see if it will happen again. I have to back up my levels daily and hope for the best. I haven't heard of anyone else experiencing this glitch. It's okay though because I am planning on using the pod and the DS4 controller in an upcoming level. What I am wondering about is does the DS4 controller object exist in LBP 3 on PS3? If I give it away as a level prize will it cause major problems for anyone? I guess we will see..

I know there are a few more issues and I will start writting them down but these are the major ones for now. Other than that the new patch is much appreciated and I have faith that this game will be everything I was hoping for with a few more tweaks and fixes. This must be a difficult game to work on with all the backwards compatibility and multi-platform issues, that being said, good job guys and keep the patches coming!

That's true, but it was already starting to happen as people didn't want to read through 20+ pages of bugs in order to see if theirs was already reported. Plus, it's very important to separate post-1.03 bugs from previous versions.

It feels like the locking of the previous bug thread was simply a PR move.

Next time please provide us with an actual QA environment (such as Jira). I'm personally done reporting bugs as they seem to be dismissive of them. The volume of posts was not enough to prevent them from giving some feedback and followup.

I didn't moan and complain when I was having tons of issues with LBP3, and I have been a defender of the game and Sumo. However, if we're expected to put up with these issues at launch, at least give some response to those willing to spend extra time to report them. Even if it's "We're aware of that issue." or "Oh, that's by design."

And this is why I've been saying that Sumo needs to release a master list of bugs they are currently working on. They didn't release a list until they released the patch...and that was just stuff they thought they had fixed. From Forces' posts, we know the list of bugs are far more vast then they have acknowledged so far.

I'm not saying there is necessarily anything malicious involved, but developers like EA have made me gun shy and not acknowledging bugs in order to avoid fixing them is a common tactic.

I don't know if this bug has been reported before but the game has crashed two times now when I have used the corner editing tool. - i cant select locked levels in my queued levels. it just jumps to the next one. unable to delete them from there without using lbp.me.

- got stuck in the menu after playing a user level and trying to restart the level which resulted in a "failed to load" error.

- when browsing user levels it often fails to laod the earth of the level, and it loads the level without the normal animation to enter the level.

- i random get my costume removed if playing user levels and comming back to the pod. (happens rare, but it's there)

CREATE MODE

- materials start to glow (similar like those useable materials in the popit puzzles, just more slightly) if they get moved with a piston. i wanted to build a dark level with moving walls, and it just screwes with everything. this happens with every material i tested it. (i admit i did not test that many, just like 3, but from those i know they don't glow) i recreated it in this video:

this is not fixing itself, and is still visible in play mode.

- i was testing how many stickers a sackboy/sackbot skin can take, after more than 80 stickers (no joke) it finally told me old ones would be deleted. the game crashed when deleting the sackbot.

- tar bubbles 1 and 2 are broken. often reset their settings. (for example layer position)
they don't even have real physics and fall out of the level.
some of them are invisible if you try to edit them and you cant touch them if you don't pause in the right moment when a bubble is visible. that needs some work.

SUGGESTIONS

- add special materials (similar like the wind one) like water with swimming automatic turning on. or how about a gravitiy material: everything inside the material will have the side or orientation of the gravity changed. that should be a tweekable material which side and direction. that would spare a LOT of work if you want to recreate some nice effects.

Not sure about sensors, but if I change the colours of lights, the colour hexagon thing seems to get stuck on the last thing you edited. i.e. change lightbulb 1 to blue, change lightbulb 2 to red, then go and edit the blue one and it shows up as red on the hexagon.

Yes I am having this problem too. I think some of the tweakable materials do this as well but I haven't done much testing.

Has anyone on PS4 been able to get the whole sound library working yet? And if so what did you have to do?

I'm most disappointed about having to replay the move and cross controller packs to unlock stuff. I still have my Vita and move for PS3 but wasn't planning on buying a PS4 camera just for this. I bought the move setup on PS3 strictly for the move pack and since then it hasn't been used. I understand PS4 and PS3 can't share save files but there must be some way to share that data between platforms or make the PS3 camera work on PS4 even just for this game.

I think if you press square on the object you can adjust "position in layer" from there. I also found out pressing R2 on any object brings up a nice pink summary of its properties.

I ran across a temporary bug that completely wipes ALL collectibles with a message stating "You haven't collected anything that goes here!" I've already beaten the game and have collected nearly everything (just missing one aced level and a couple multiplayer sections). Fortunately, ending the game and starting it back again recovers everything lost, but I have to say I panicked. It didn't seem to go away by exiting levels or going somewhere else. Just a couple things I haven't seen mentioned yet. Oddsock randomly decides he won't stick to a wall at all. It comes and goes, but makes testing a real pain.

Another thing is when I go to recent activity scroll down and hit more. It loads the next set of stuff, but there's a giant loading icon that comes up right smack over top of the newly loaded stuff. Not sure if it's a bug or not, but it's extremely annoying. If it's not a bug I can't see why on earth they'd put it there...

The biggest issue I have now the DLC that won't download.

But this is actually not related to LBP3, its actually an issue with LPB2/PSN Store. Content that I purchased in the LBP2 store is not marked as sold in the PSN store, so it makes total sense why it won't download for LBP3 because the game checks the store, and the store says I never bought it.

The PS4 store browsing doesn't help here either. Because you can't just list your purchased content and re-download. Which is a problem, especially considering that I bought the Dragon Age Costumes, and they aren't in the game. I can't re-download them on the PS4.

Continuing on, the PS4 shows stuff for PS4 games, it doesn't list PS3 and Vita stuff.

If it did and had a re-download option, I could just go through my purchases.

On the PS3 the PSN purchase history shows LBP content that doesn't appear in game (like the summer creators kit) and a lot of it is noted in the tags to be for PS4 as well, but you can't get to it on PS4 to download.

Other than that; I have had very few problems with the actual game... it's all been with DLC, which is such a huge variable also. The order you purchased content could be the reason something doesn't work, and there is no way to test of this.

Okay, so after that mini freak out yesterday about all of my unlockables being wiped, I try to play this afternoon and my profile is corrupted. I tried restarting my PS4, and it didn't help. I am so furious, I can't even see straight. This has been the worst gaming experience to date. Now I may have to unlock EVERYTHING over again (so many aced levels lost) and completely restart a level I was in the middle of working on and enthusiastic about publishing. I'm going to see if my file was automatically backed up, but I'm not hopeful. If a patch can fix the corruption, that'd be great, and I'll just wait to play again.2014-12-06 21:41:00

I'm not sure what this was like in LBP1/2, but in Vita I could choose which sticker panel went on top of others with "position in layer". Now it doesn't seem to do that, instead choosing the depth seemingly at random. I'm not sure if this is a bug or it's intentionally different to LBPV. Also, sorry if this has already been brought up.

Sticker Panel was unique in LBP2 because it was given a predetermined depth randomly upon generation. To be backwards compatible, in LBP3 when a piece of sticker panel is set to 0 it has this random depth quality. Tweaking its position in layer will make it act like any other material, this is why sometimes when going from 0 to 1 it will appear to jump back instead of forward. In reality, it was just because its randomly chosen depth was very far forward.

Vita had the liberty of being an entirely separate game, free of create related backwards compatibility so the randomosity was removed from Sticker Panel in that version.

In summary though, if you want a lot of depth control on your sticker panel in lbp3, simply tweak the pieces to be anything but 0 Hope this helps!

I'm experiencing a weird glitch where I push an object - say, a pinball, into the front layer and it is rendered as if it were in the behind layer - the bottom renders behind the floor, for instance, and there appears to be nothing in the front layer but the pinball is there. The glitch persists even if I move the pinball to another piece of material yet seems to fix itself if I move it to another layer. If I get a chance tomorrow I will post pictures.2014-12-06 22:36:00

In Ziggurat Grand Hall, my door to No Drain No Gain failed to appear. The quest arrow points to where it should be but I can't enter since there's no door. I already spoke to the lizard lady and she won't speak again. The level is still locked on the map screen too, meaning there is no getting at it.

This on my PS3, the PS4 was okay.

So, I have encountered 2 problems while playing LBP3. I have been following this topic and the previous one, and I hope I didn't miss if someone had already encountered them. Sorry if this is a redundancy.

Problem 1:

While I was navigating through my earth, I noticed that the button labels that show you how to decide what do you want to do with one of your published levels are hidden by the description of the level itself. Nothing game-breaking, but it's sure a bit odd.

Here's a screen (I have added the two yellow arrows to highlight what I'm talking about):

Problem 2:

I have tried to create an adventure map, and I noticed two different issues:


There's no way to change the materials the adventure map is made of. When I try, nothing happens; inside the popit, the new material I have added is where I put it but sometimes changes with the infamous yellow exclamation mark.
The option to import levels from other parts of the moon does not work at all. When I press the square button to do so, literally nothing happens. The only signal I get from the game is the loading symbol on the left-down side of the screen, which eventually disappears without any effect. Before you ask, there are already some levels on my moon which I've created or copied from my earth.


I'm on PS4, EU disc version, 1.03 patch installed. I didn't import anything from LBP1 or LBP2 yet.

this time just a short list because i was not able to play much LBP3 in the past days. (visiting a friend)
but this friend owns a german version (EU, PS4 disc) and i was playing that one a bit:

PROFILE CORRUPTION:

- while i wanted to ace the very last few levels on my friends console and his game (because he has no time to do so, but wants to build)
the game suddenly said "there was an unknown error, and changes on the profile could not be saved".
this error arppeared everytime i opened a level or anything else. in hope it would be gone i closed down LBP3, and
after restarting it the profile was corrupt. (If this error ever appears for any of you, go to your saved
levels on your moon and backup them, the next time you load your profile they will be gone!(corrupted) Use
the chance this data is still not seen as corrupt and loads.)
EDIT:
This error has different causes i assume, and depending on what it is you can do more or less.
So just consider it as a possibility and at least try to backup when it happens.
It don't needs to be corruption or it could be that you can't do anything anymore. But it's better than not trying it.

- i told him okay, no big problem, at least you got the story progress still saved, we don't need to collect
everything again... haha... nope... why does the story mode have an own save file if the save file is fully
ignored after having an currupt save file? every level was locked again and i needed to collect every item again as well.
(I assume that is just object saver and memorizer data...?, still popit puzzles keept being unlocked, but of
course we need to collect all prices again... so we need to play it anyway... so how makes it having those files
any more secure to don't lose your collectables? it's not.)

STORY MODE:

- book 1 opened as i watched the last video of the prologue world. but i did not play any level in book 1, and went
to do some other things. atfter comming back to story mode book 1 was closed, and just the prologe world map was
accessable. i had to replay the video level again to unlock manglewood again. and that after the patch?

- it happens often if you don't finish the level you just found inside the hub level and go back to the map while
playing it (without reaching the goal) the level don't gets unlocked and you have to find it again in the hub world
to unloack it in the map.

- minor grafic bug happened as my friend joined to play. he fell into the tar in manglewood and died like 5 layers
toward the screen instead inside of the tar material. (i did not see it, he just told me)

CREATE MODE:

- after rewinding in create mode you get sometimes but rare spawned as sackboy if you previously had oddsock. (no
it did not undo the char changing, i changed ages ago)

- when a slide is build (standard slides, with 50 50 settings), you can walk to the sides of it (while not being on
the slide) and jump up at the right spots... if you time that right you will be launced very fast and high into the air.

SUGGESTION:

- add rotation options for the jumping arch for layer jumping pads. as in if you want to rotate the jumping pad
180? you can still set where you go. usabele for top down levels and other things.

Devs please don't ignore them just because i found them befor patch 1.03 came out. they are still there.

You can't backup your levels if you get that error, at least on the PS3 version. Basically, if you get the "recent changes to your profile could not be saved due to an unknown error" alert, you'll get it every time you try to do something involving data, including trying to backup your levels. All you can do is restart your game and hope your profile doesn't corrupt.

Basically, if you get the "recent changes to your profile could not be saved due to an unknown error" alert, you'll get it every time you try to do something involving data, including trying to backup your levels. All you can do is restart your game and hope your profile doesn't corrupt.

i sadly didn't test it, i assumed IF the game can load every moon level (which was possible in this case) even when this error accurs it could save it as NEW backup files, which have nothing to do with the profile data. if it loads the levels to build in them (even though it don't saves changes on the profile) it should be able to load the data to back up it and than create a new file too...
well, this needs testing i guess. but thanks for letting me know. you could be right!

Overall 1.03 has made the game a lot more smooth and playable. But there are still issues I've encountered in story mode.

Book 1: Manglewood

In the hub, there have been times i've landed in tar and haven't died. I've ended up trapped underneath the tar. Had to use Retry in the popit to escape.

Book2: Ziggurat

My game broke. Everytime I enter the ziggurat hub, my sack person constantly spawns, falls, dies and respawns. I've been forced to delete my adventure data (Yet again) to correct the issue. I've read of this happening to others. Given the fact that it is a major story mode glitch I thought this would've been fixed by now.

Wow am I tired of LBP3 freezing my PS3. (Going on about 30)

Now I'm stuck as a custom sackbot (that has logic that prevents flying) in a level I'm working on, and whenever I try to change back to default sackboy it freezes my system. Neat.

I just noticed a bunch of the objects from LBP 3 display incorrect information when you click square on them in your poppit. For example the "pinball" object (from LBP 3 manglewood theme, not to be confused with the LBP 2 object of the exact same name) shows the properties for basic wood. Even more weird when you click "USE" from the menu it gives me an acrylic tube corner object instead. It does this for all the objects that show basic wood in properties. There are at least 20 or so of these I've found so far and some that show up as basic stone or as boost boots and again these give you some type of acryllic tube piece or other object when you press use. All of my acryilic tube objects show up as wood. Plastic ball, subwoofer, abacus, grey bowler hat, plastic cup, many others but I haven't checked everything yet and I don't have all the items yet either. Can anyone confirm if this is a known bug or a glitch within my own profile? I am on PS4.

Also probably unrealted but my slush material from the DC pack seems to have lost its animation. I could swear it was working when I first used it but now no matter what I set the speed to or what I do even in a new moon level after restarting the game there is no animation. All other animated materials seem to work. Weird..

Magic Mouths are completely broken. No matter how much text you put in them, they'll mutter one word (if you assign a voice) and stop.

It takes multiple attempts of walking in and out of range to get them to talk if placed on an object.

Some mouths in my old LBP2 levels don't do anything at all.

HARD CRASH:

Playing both of my Eve levels will crash during cut scenes the moment someone talks.

I have my mouths in sequencers. I don't use glitches or tricks.

I have no idea if its just me or it can be replicated.

This is weird.

Had the same problem yesterday, magic mouth as subtitle didn't work on sequencers, you see, it's activated, but nothing happens, changed to speech bubble and it worked...

Yesterday i tried this popit cursor thing, worked great, but when you enable a movie camera in the level, all logic stops working... popit cursor sensors do not sense anymore...

A few bugs I've noticed that are still present in 1.03:

* Magic mouths have 2 'skippable' options. The first one is only active if you've got something connected to it's input.
* They don't animate when they're visible in play mode.

* Tag colours are messed up, even if they do work properly
* Tags in LBP1 levels are visible, even if they were set to be invisible in play mode.

EDIT: I'm starting to figure it out. The second skippable option seems to work on subtitles.

This happens for the second player in a certain section of tar (only tried with two people). Everything else should work.

Main community menu, select a newest level with a video file but don't start it, go to teampicks one left, now when you change levels and the levels of the teampicks has videos, the newest level video on right side will play the TeamPick video instead of the newest level video, seems 2 different videos at the same time don't work, in worst case you have 4 wrong and 1 right video in the menu at the same time, always the same video file...2014-12-09 20:57:00

There are far too many game breaking bugs in this. I can't Ace one level because the yellow boost for the boost boots doesn't work half the time and I can't Ace the great escape because the water randomly disappears from the first section of the Toggle level. I can't finish the Muppets pack because of bugs and I can't finish the Toy Story pack because of bugs. I can't download any other levels I've bought because it tells me I have to pay again. this time i was playing on my friends ps4 with an european version of the game.

- the manglewood robot did activate itself without my doing.
(i think that happened as i reached it without the boost boots just slightly)

i assume the game considers stickers used in special materials as trigger stickers.

- sometimes the game gets stuck at loading the story mode. and you need to restart LBP3

- in "dinner at 8" i jumped into death with 3 of the sackbots, but than very soon (seconds) after i accidentally jumped down with the rest of them and they fell through the danger gap out of the level. (forgot to make a video of it, and wasn't able to recreate)

- the climbing animation in "go loco" is very snappy and jumps many frames even when the rest of the game still works fine with the framerate. (animation frames, and sackboys position which can cause many of the game caused deaths)

- in the popit puzzles i was somehow able to use and build things i just collected in price bubbles

glitches galore!

Want to play LBP3 on hard mode?

For the first part of the final Boss (even bosses wear hats), Sackboy is simply invisible.

Big Toggle is fine tho.
You might get lucky and he'll appear if you die enough. Also he's naked for some reason.

I was also sometimes losing character logic upon respawn during play mode when I had the logic on the sackbot chip. I have been using broadcast chips for character logic and that seems to work better.

I can't import old LBP2 level backups on PS3, i get "There is no saved data", worked in the beta...
Tried it first time today, don't know if it worked before i merged all my LBP profiles...

Edit:
It shows LBP3 Level backups, only LBP 1+2 are not there

Instead of global settings, did you try to set the character to the checkpoint/entrance of the level?

I'll give that a try


I was also sometimes losing character logic upon respawn during play mode when I had the logic on the sackbot chip. I have been using broadcast chips for character logic and that seems to work better.

I've also started using broadcast chips now, they are a lot more reliable. But the global character setting would've been a lot more convenient.

I asked before posting the problem here. But It appears that the Bunkum Lagoon prize list (in level description) is broken. currently It has been seen that it supposed to be 45 (others have seen this), 51(prima guide), 96(a youtube video show this many prizes in the description)

So it need to be fixed.....just thought I would give my input here since it where people report game bugs

- copys of broadcast chips circuit boards behaviour is annoying and needs
fixes and more tweeks to choose if you want them displayed or how they are displayed.
explainations:
a) if you touch the original broadcast chip, even if it is just moving the circuit board it stops sending.
causing stuff to break if you need it active all the time.
b) if you open or close the original broadcast chip it opens and closes every copy in the level on each tag as
well. even if you closed the copy allready it opens again. and if you have that tag 20 times it means it spams your
level with 20 of those boards visible. you need to close ALL 20 seperatly and every time you change something on
the original chip.
c) if a copy of the broadcast chips circuit board is blocking your original board, and you move it to see more of
it, the copy will move the same direction and space and blocks you the same way again. you MUST move the original
chip itself or the tagged item to have enough room again. (in some levels that is impossible or simply annyoing if
you want to test quickly if it works what you just changed frequently and dont want move away to change it.) (also
if you close the copy it opens up again automatic if you touch the original chips board)
d) they sometimes or better said often block themselfs and cause each other to automatic get on top of the layers.
this happened so often that it annoyes me a lot. fixing that in combination with the other 3 reasons is annoying too.
e) if you put a tag to broadcast the logic into a sackbot, and you move its original sackbot circuit board, the
broadcast chip will float in the air next to the sackbot.

i guess this can cause some detecting logic to cause wrong outcomes.

- several DLC level sets are broken and can not be finished because of bounce pad issues. (like i said LBP2 user
levels as well) those pads don't work even if activated, and its not a random bug, it happens allways with the same pads. it happens in the muppets pack "muppet labs!", move pack "welcome to the valley ofthe sackbots" and DC Comics on several levels, but in the DC pack they are not level breaking but prevent you from acing.

"GOD GLITCH 2"

- there is a glitch that lets you open every single story mode level in create mode;
this also lets you capture what you want... even those "DEV ONLY!" items and logic.
it works, and is easy to do...
i am also suprised how many "ps4/ps3" detecting logic is used to make levels look better on PS4.
(sure, the ps4 can do more, but why can't we have that logic too? makes me wonder.)

PS: sorry i will not explain how it works. (i did in said e-mail) but in fact it's so easy to do and reproduce that i belive many people
will find the glitch themself while just messing around. or even just thinking what need to be done to reproduce this.
this should be fixed soon! i know it's nice to see how they build it and you can learn a lot from it, but it's allready causing many levels to be published by random users using whole captured levels, parts of the levels and the price bubbles. they literally spam with them.

forgot a few things:

INGAME STUFF

- i noticed activity is buggy on some levels and sometimes it don't even show up what i did on my profile ingame.

- if looking at someone else's hearted levels it claimes that those are MY hearted levels

- it allways shows the wrong player number of players online. (in the menu, but when you enter it it shows the right one)

- if browsing for levels with lbp3 filters it don't finds much level. it just stops after a few.

- if browsing for levels with search or other options ingame, and you scroll down far, you cant scroll up, it stops and wants you to use the "go back to top" option instead.

- if selecting or visiting a levels earth after finding it in a search or an other option, it resets where you left the list. you need to scroll down again to find again where you left to view the level/earth.

- if you select "newest levels" "busiest" "my queue" or what ever there is for the first time it can't find any results, but after selecting it again they show up. this happens everytime you chose a new section in that menu. (if you click on the more button for those sections, not the new fancy menu itself)

DLC

- wasn't the hero cape supposed to glow in the players color? it's allways black for me (the cape itself)

- i am allmost unable to get ANY of the sticker triggered prices of the first level in the metal gear solid level pack.

I'm most interested in the DEV ONLY logic components. I wonder if they will eventually be made available for everyone? After all the idea is that the story levels were created with the exact same materials and logic that we players have to work with right? God glitch; I think I have some idea how to do this but it will likely be patched by the time I figure it out. Luckily no one has released a tutorial yet. thanks, i try my best. and even if you ever find out how, don't post it. there should not be to much talk, and tutorials about this glitch, spamming story mode copied stuff allready started to spread in the community level section of the game and should not expand more.
oh, sure there are a few other items which were never given out as price bubbles, for example the one armed bandid head for toggle...
And I hope and think they will release some of said logic items as future DLC, for example the sticker HUD which i am very interested into. (I also wonder why it was in the story levels, i never seen it used.) Also i doubt they will ever lose a word about the ps3/ps4 detector (for several reasons)... but let's stay on topic now for how the latest patch works, and bug reports to help for the next patch :3

Just did this next bug without trying... not sure if anybody talked about it yet.

I was messing around and pushed O a ton of times super quickly right after i pushed X to create a new adventure map on my moon... It reset my progress in the game's storymode?!.. almost as if my adventure mode save file was deleted just because i backed out quickly from a newly created adventure map on my moon. What is this nonsense... -_-

Just make sure to back up yo adventure mode save file before testing to see if this bug is real. :V

I apologize if some of these bugs have already been mentioned, there is just a lot to read through. All of these bugs are from LBP3 NA version on the PS4. First off just want to say thanks for getting patch 1.03 out so quickly! LBP3 is already one of my favorite games.

DLC
Level 1: Trouble at the Temple
- Bounce pads near the end of the level no longer work, making it impossible to ace level

Level 2: A Chemical Overreaction
- Impossible to Ace level as in the beginning your character and Batman still fall onto the spring board and bounce right into the chemicals

Level 4: An Appointment with Doom
- As with level 1, the bounce pads near the end of the level don't work so you can't move on and ace the level

Muppets Premium Level Pack:
Level 3: Muppet Labs
- Near the middle of the level you launch Beaker onto material to lower the floor, above which are numerous launch pads. None of the launch pads work though so I am stuck on that level.

Nightmare Before Christmas:
- The level works perfectly, however after you collect the sound effects they don't show up in your inventory like the DC Comics sounds do


Create Mode:
- I have been working on a level for a while now, and all has been going well up until it said that there was too much going on in one area. Now objects are disappearing and reappearing. I have tried deleting things but that has only lead to the problem below

- One major problem I have come across is the fact that I can no longer delete certain objects. Once I glue say the floor of a building to the walls and the windows, for some reason they stay glued. Even if I try to unglue them it just keeps making the unglue sound effect, but stay the exact same.

- As well, I know this was mentioned, I have tried to import my LBP and LBP2 files again, but I still only have the few sound effects that were present in the beginning, aside from the DC comics sounds and Pirates of the Caribbean sound effects. I am still missing the Sci-Fi sound effects, along with a few others.

- Any in-game photos taken are full of pixels. After completing Popit Academy it takes your picture during graduation, but the picture is all full of random blocks. As well, I am working on a level where I have re-created the wooden crate and other boxes from Ratchet and Clank, and all of the pictures of them are the same and have random blocks of colour. I know I had this same problem in LBP2. Just wondering if there is a way to fix this?

- A few times after I have undone work in my level it pops up saying there was an error and closes the game, leading me to have to reload the game and sometimes lose any level progress I forgot to save. This has only happened about 3 times so its not too bad.

Got more bugs and other things...

After I unlocked my LBP1 contents, I got an extra Basic Rubber material, but it's called 'Some Kind of object'.
Got duplicate spoon decoration.
In the Sackbot Powerup area, the hook hat needs a icon to replace the placeholder which is a square that says 'FIX ME HOOK HAT'
In the state sensor, the 'Sense Owner Only' preference needs an icon.
If the Sound Object is used, some of the separates are in the personal/used area. Depending on what sound catagory you've selected.
If I am not a host in the pod, I still got Pod Decoration on the popit menu (there is no icon)
If you manage to bring the classic looking tag (Magnetic Key in LBP1) to LBP3, there's no proper tweak for tag and tweak it as a object instead.

I always wanted to change the pod background and the global controls.
Any LBP2 backgrounds I've unlocked and brand new pod backgrounds - Only 3 was featured in the beta that was Manglewood, Ziggorat and the Default. Don't forget Stitchem Manor, Bunkum Lagoon and the Popit Puzzles pod backgrounds.
And for the Global controls, it don't want to change when you set it...

Everytime I thought about stickers on the skin moves between platforms, I feel down a bit because it might not get fixed.
So yeah, I think the next patch is on it's way pretty soon and will fix more stuffs up.

I don't know if anyone's posted this one yet, but (in the PS3 version at least) water bullets look awful when they are overlapping each other; they don't layer correctly and have visible outlines in the areas where they overlap.

Strangely enough, Create Mode has worked better for me than Adventure Mode.

For instance, I am unable to play the racing Contraption Challenge anymore due to the fact that the portal no longer appears when I finish building my racer.

Another instance that I've run across is in the final level in the very first section with Toggle. My Toggle is now a default naked Toggle without a costume for some reason. When I switch to little Toggle, well... he's not visible. If I die like this, Sackboy will become little Toggle without any running animations.

And there is much more than this that I've run across and I'll be posting screenshots and videos in the future. Apologies if these glitches were already stated, I just haven't the time to look through 8 pages.

Well since launch I've been lucky and haven't had a single issue with the game. Played through SP with zero trouble (other than oddsock doing mystery costume changes in cut scenes, and the DLC issues). Local MP works great, online worked great, Create works great. Dynamic thermo works great etc...

However just a bit ago I went to re-play the prologue level to see if I had the switch stickers yet and after quitting out because I didn't have the stickers boom... all my save game progress is lost and all levels are re-locked. I played all the way through the prologue to make sure it wouldn't all come back once the second area was unlocked but no luck.

However I made a full backup yesterday, now I just have to figure out which item to re-load...

i assume that is because the whole texture of the skin is just one big file and it
just adds the sticker on that file, but i think it should NOT sticker the hand while

- many of swoops, toggles and especially oddsocks costume parts cut in their body and
leave "invisible" texture holes... just one example:

- wearing this teeth for toggle (i forgot the name, but they are in the main game, no dlc)
breaks the texture for his tongue:

- many backgrounds take very long to load, or appear blurry or without light or wrong light.

- some backgrounds copy the global light and fog settings if changing backgrounds,
but reset all settings to 0 while it stays for example foggy dark, if it was dark and with fog.

- the game don't memorizes where you left in the bags or sticker menus.
so it can get very very annoying and frustrating if scrolling through long sticker lists.

- the game acts in weird pattern if you delete photos:
if you observe it close, you will see that it has two sets of memo data where you left
and jumps between them... to demonstrate this i deleted a picture further below in the list,
and than continue with deleting more, where ever it takes me.

- after just two costum made sackbot costumes the game allready tells me:
"woah! the level is getting pretty complicated..."

and it happens everytime i save the level from that moment on.

- [EU+US] the setting "0" on the 10 till -10 setting from "position in layer" acts as a RANDOM number.
everything else besides 0 works fine.

- [EU] the game renames my microchips to their translations!
for example if i put "eyes" as a name, it names the microchip "Augen" (which is the german word for "eyes")
i assume that is because it filters "sticker names" and translates them? even when it's just a microchip's name?

- it still shows my lbp2 sackboy costume when doing reviews or comments in LBP3

thats what i mean with the same color makes it unable to read
(after just playing it it highlights it with another color which makes it unreadable no matter what color setting you got)

- besides the allready known "go to store" issue with team pick news feed messages,
i found another thing: it shows the loading animation on the wrong side.
it should block the view of the earth not the team pick news text.

so i checked the popit puzzles and found them removed as collected. just one of the

DLC

- in the move pack my sackboys skin startet to glow/flash in red. in some areas.
(that is as far i could go in the second level till i reached the not working bounce pad)

SUGGESTIONS:

- make it possible to only sticker parts of clothes, like the belt only.

- block stickers to "bleed" over to other parts of sackboy skins if you just for example want to sticker the tongue.
this goes for MANY other costume parts as well.

- as an other user in the forum already mentioned please add a global setting
to limit to "3 layers only" in create mode.
this global setting could be default ON if the game boots up lbp1 or lbp2 levels.

Maybe he organized them differently. If I'm not mistaken, you can customize the categories of just about anything in your pop-it.

You used to be able to but for some reason you can't make your own categories now. I used to have a 'junk' category for stuff from LBP1 but I can't do that in LBP3.

Going to News to check out the latest Team Picks; clicking on the level brings up the option "Go to store" and when selected takes me to the store instead of the levels.


Yeah I mentioned this to Steven, but I don't think he responded to me at all. X should play the level and it doesn't even have a Square option which should take you to their planet.

I reloaded my Adventure file backup that I made day-before-yesterday because last night it deleted all my single player progress and even after restoring a save from before it happened didn't fix the problem. It was like it didn't actually copy over at all.

I then went and tried a PSPlus backup from back on the 13th and it seemed to work fine, although I lost progress on the 2x areas and ace levels.

I then made a fresh backup of my Profile file to my 32gig USB. Before this only took 2or 3 minutes, but last night it took it more than 5 hours to copy over the 536.9 meg file. What the hell?

Also there are some Sackbot issues when creating a Sackbot that copies the costume of the player and is used as a character that spawns from entrances and checkpoints. The Sackbot's costume reverts back to a custom costume. Furthermore, it seems to have trouble reading when there are multiple players, so costumes 2-4 end up messed up as well. A few friends and I tried to solve this ourselves but to no avail. There is a workaround using the old-fashioned method, but it would make things so much easier if this was fixed.

I have a list of bugs and glitches I've experienced since the 1.03 patch more than 2 pages long. The bugs range from minor annoyances to complete game breakers. I see no point in posting since most of them have already been reported. I'm hoping the new patch will be released soon and at least some of the major bugs will be gone. I will then post any that still aren't fixed.

I have to say I'm fairly disappointed by this release. LBP 3 for ps4 now lists on the North American store for $59.99. When I pre-ordered the game back in October, I paid $69.99 for it. That means since then the price has dropped by $10. Which means I paid $10 more for a mostly functional "beta" of the game I really wanted. The pre-order bonus honestly wasn't anything amazing and the game should never have been released like it was even with the day 1 patch. A few bugs I can understand but for me at least, 50% of the game has been severely bugged or unplayable in some way and still is after 3 patches. I still can't access and fix my LBP 2 levels due to DLC problems. I still can't finish most of the DLC that I do have, to unlock those items which I've already unlocked in LBP 2. I lost 6 hours of work on a level that got overwritten with a glitch. About half the story levels have minor to major issues. I still have no new sounds, can't change my pod background and have to constantly back everything up for fear it will be lost again. It's the 17th today and past the kind of promised goal to get all the remaining DLC up on the store. I see nothing new.

I know I will think twice before pre-ordering any game in the future because of this experience. Maybe Sumo was too ambitious with new features and should have made the core game work flawlessly before adding things like new costumes and DLC. It's kind of insulting especially for those that have been fans and supporters of the community since LBP 1 was released. I would rather be creating new levels than spending my time discovering, reporting and looking for workarounds to problems in an unfinished game. Anyway, that's my rant and I'm still hopeful this game will be fixed. I just can't help but feel a little bit ripped off

Not sure if this issue has been mentioned yet but when searching through community levels, it only shows a few levels. Once you click "more"
At the bottom of the list, it shows the same levels on the previous page. Same with the next page and the next page etc.

Little update over here: there is none. The only DLC I can access is the DLC that has been added in LBP 3. 8, well 6 rather, since I cannot download the Santa costumes because of a convenient error message. The game is still horrible, I can't safely make my own levels because the game either bugs out (stuck in menu screen, doesn't matter which button you press, even the PS-button) or it just crashes on me. If not for this alpha/beta release, now trend titled something other than mentioned, we of the LBP community would not have our newly discovered create mode enhancing glitch. Possibly impossible should LBP3 have been released in the parallel dimension instead of this known one.
