Laggy level with 1/3 thermometer

Archive: 9 posts

I'm almost finished my survival challenge but I have a problem. My level is lagging with just 1/3 of the thermometer. Any idea how I can fix this? I think the cause is my complicated background but I can't break it apart as I'm too far into the level.

Also, does anyone know where to find the square vent decoration?

Thanks.

I think the cause of that is that you have too many complex objects on screen. (I think)
Try removing some decorations and objects, or use the corner editing tool to delete some corners on the complex objects.

I'm pretty sure that all the air vents are in the subway level.....2009-03-01 15:36:00

I believe you mean the Metal Air.. something. It's in Decorations --> Landscape.

It's from The Wildernis if you don't have it yet.

too much is happening in too small an area on your level. This is why you are experiencing lagg. Spread things out and/or enlarge and shift objects.2009-03-01 17:33:00

It seems to be okay when you play the level outside create mode. Thanks for all the responses.

If anyone would like to test it for me please go here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=p=157214#post157214).

The corner editing tool is usefull to shape up your things avoiding high geometry. This saves quite alot of thermo. Also, all MM levels seems to be designed in a similar manner. It probably helped them making huge levels.
Only thing I have is that it's really buggy.

I draw almost all of my objects with it. Never do I really use the predefined shapes from drawing things, unless they are lines, rectangles, circles....

My own personal opinion is that levels constructed using only the shape tools for drawing typically look sloppy in the aesthetics department. However, hugely successful and popular levels have been made without ever touching the corner edit tool. It all depends on what kind of visual polish you want on your levels.

Zero is right on it saving metric buttloads of thermo by reducing the number of vertices required to draw complex shapes. And with this, you can make your levels larger and more detailed.
