Blaster Handle Problems

This is not a glitch, so I will not post it in the main "Glitches and Workarounds" thread.

I have recently made an umbrella powerup using the blaster handle. I want it so that the player can not in any way aim it unless they turn around, in which case the umbrella also turns around. I set the Aiming Speed to 0% and placed it on the umbrella like this:

As you can see, the powerup pedestal shows the correct orientation of the powerup. However, when I actually equip the powerup, the orientation messes up and the umbrella looks like this:

Additionally, the umbrella does not turn around when I do.

My two questions are:

Where on the umbrella handle should I place the Blaster Handle so the umbrella is upright?
How can I get the umbrella to turn around when I do without being able to aim it, if possible?

Any help is appreciated!

It's more that you need to keep the character from moving the arm that's holding the umbrella, or maybe not have the umbrella actually be a part of the blaster handle.2014-12-01 02:53:00

So what would you suggest? I'm not really understanding what you're trying to say here.

If you stuck the blaster handle to a bit of sticker panel with a tag on it (name it umbrella) and an emitter that spits out the umbrella. The separate umbrella has a microchip with a follower that is set to follow the (umbrella) tag. Also I'd pop a gyroscope on the umbrella so it always stays straight and dephysicalize it too so it doesn't bang into the sackboy or background....

Make a hologram, make it invisible.

Put a tag on the blaster handle.

Put a follower on the hologram and make it follow the tag on the handle.

Now you can swing the handle around and the hologram will be glued to it, but it will always be upright. Glue your umbrella to that hologram.

I accidentally built a powerup that wasn't aimable. Like you could move your hand but the angle of the powerup wouldn't change. It happened when I put the blaster handle inside a microchip. You might try that and see if it works.2014-12-03 06:06:00
