How do I make sackboy walk towards and away from the screen?

I thought it would just be an option to choose from but it seems logic is needed?2014-11-29 17:01:00

Advanced in and out mover with character animation tweaker, controllinator and broadcast chip. To make the sackboy stay exactly where he lands (not jump to a layer) you have to have 2 extra in and out movers with batteries hooked up as 1% and -1%2014-11-29 19:14:00

To explain further:

Advanced mover will move the character.

But you also need an animation tweaker on it. Set it to override direction. Then you just rotate them 90 degrees and set the animation to walking.

The second part is, after you finish said sackperson will then jump to the closest layer after you stop using the mover on them. To fix that you need a -1% and +1% (to cancel each other out) advanced movers to keep the sackperson where they are.

I can't make the advanced in/out mover move anything. I hooked it up to a controlinator. I hooked it up to a 3 way switch. I too was trying to make smooth, natural looking layer movement with sackboy. I can make him turn just fine, but as far as I can tell the advanced in out mover is nothing more than a decoration. I seriously can't make it move anything!2014-12-02 01:47:00

Hey, TEENWULF. I'm actually working on a project just for your problem. Come check it out. Fluid 360 (Advanced 3D Movement) (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=93070-Project-Fluid-360%B0-(Advanced-3D-Movement)).2014-12-02 04:12:00

I too am having this problem, I cant figure out how to hook logic up to the advanced mover to make it do anything.

I have monitored my inputs and its receiving a variety of impulses to both of its inputs, and I tried all sorts of settings and no matter what it doesnt move.

Not sure why... I have made a sackbot floating in the air, and using logic I can rotate and move it around, now I want to make it go in and out of the layers while floating.

But advanced mover just isn't actually doing anything, despite getting lit up by wires.

Try the logic in a new level spot. I was working on a level I imported from lbp2 and I don't know if there was something in the level or if because it was from 2, but the layer change logic was frozen. In a new level spot my logic worked as it should.

I made sackboy turn and walk in all directions. I used positional sequencers with batteries to modify the left stick signal and fed that value into a character rotator. I used the animation tweaker just for the walk animation. It looks pretty good.

Just learned an easier way. Check out the angle-ify option on the directional splitter. There is a help topic right here about it and a link to a post where flux-lasers describes how to hook it up. Basically you need a broadcast chip with a controlinator on it set to "nearest player. Run the left stick outputs through a directional combiner set to angle-ify and plug this output into a character rotator. You will also need an advanced in out mover for smooth layer changing and a animation tweaker to make sackboy's legs move while walking/ layer changing.2014-12-05 14:56:00
