Waking Life was fascinating. For a movie that did a bit of pioneering in a not-quite-so-new field of animation called rotoscoping, it seemed to spend a lot of time in documentary mode on people just TALKING. Philosophizing about dreams, in-depth discussion about the mechanics of the dreaming brain, and so much more talk, talk talk. It becomes a shock toward the end of the movie when stuff actually starts happening and a story begins to take place. Why don't we actually have a movie like that then? Why make a movie where people TALK about the subject matter instead of telling a story about the subject matter?

B+ for being engaging and interesting, but somehow at the same time dull.

Here's one that always stirs up a ruckus depending on who you ask:

I loved Titanic. When I saw that movie for the first time I was enthralled with Kate Winslet and Leo Dicaprio's performances. I think time has beared out my opinion as far as how good these two actors really are. It was a little look at the history of the Titanic (just a little) for those who had none such as myself. I got to see another side of Bill Paxton in his role in the movie that showed he can do more that be a butthead in the movie Weird Science (which was hilarious imho). Im not into love stories, but I thought they handled this in a really cool way. You gotta love a dood teaching doodette how to spit like a pro. Kathy Bates proved to me that I don't ever want to meet her in a dark alley, tough one that. I loved the scenery, the acting and the story. I have no opinion on what the movie "meant". It can mean a million different things to as many different people depending on the twists and turns that their lives have taken.

Slumdog Millionaire

Gorgeous film, and I greatly respect the lengths the filmmakers went to to make this fantasy feel real - by shooting in the actual locations in Mumbai and casting actual kids from the slums. It all pays off wonderfully.

But beyond that, I wasn't a big fan of the movie, pretty disappointed really. Some of the characters' motivations just didn't feel natural (particularly the brother), and in the end when you get the big payoff, my heart just wasn't all that warmed. It's a movie about love overcoming all obstacles - the whole world, in all its vileness, is out to keep these two apart, but somehow they seem destined to be together. beautiful little fantasy story. But didn't really do it for me.

I really like Blood Simple for the tone. I think the band Massive Attack has claimed this movie as one of their influences. I'm not surprised. It has incredible mood, the opening credits sequence is great evidence of this - nothing more than a car windshield with the wipers going, driving through a stormy night.

NARC. 7.23 out of 10.

Didn't wow me. and IMO grossly abused the F word. (just looked it up, 297 F bombs are dropped) wasn't too bad though.

and before that with the TMNT. I'm going to go with the original 3...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Kid (10 out of 10) adult (7 out of 10) when I was little it was just what I wanted to see.. kindof crappy now though

TMNT 2: secret of the Ooze. Kid (8 out of 10) adult (6 out of 10) not as good as the first one.. not too bad though.

TMNT 3: no subtitle given... Kid (0 out of 10) adult (-10 out of 10) this movie was just Vile! A big slap in the face to anyone who ever liked the Ninja turtles.. This movie actually coincided with the death of my childhood, Im not saying it Killed it.. but It was in the area. Seriously this movie made me give away millions of old school NT toys.

Jackie Brown - 9/10.

Much underrated Tarantino movie, but more because it doesn't possess many of his hallmarks than anything else. I think that's a good thing, and that this is his most mature movie to date. Strong central performances and dynamite supporting cast, great script and thoughtful pace - it gets better with age.

If not then the next person can rate Fast and Furious (saw it yesterday, only rate it if you haven't seen Outpost)

2/10 I saw an ad and it looked boring

What about the Godfather 1 (what's a shocking choice XD)

You saw an ad and based your opinion off of that? That just won't do...

Little Miss Sunshine - 7.5/10. Alan Arkin was great.

Now, rate Outpost or Rambo III.

(That's the one with the magicians right?)

7/10

It was an interesting film but I found it a bit too repetative.

Fast and Furious.

D'you mean the first one? 6/10. Awesome at what it's trying to be (cars and ladies), poor as a film.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow!

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow!

No! I meant the new one
The first one is The Fast and The Furious, the new one is just Fast and Furious. Never Mind.

F&F
9.4/10

Was a good film which picked up where all the others left off. Going back to the original characters was the best decision.

Next person do 'SC&tWoT' or 'Outpost'
Yarbone: Anyways, I'm watching Outpost now... so i'll let you guys know if it's a good movie or not
Where is Yarbone?!

O-0 i finally watched Outpost >_<

It's like an action/horror movie.... I think i'd give it 7/10. It's not an amazingly good movie. It's about some soldiers get in some old bunker thing, with nazi zombehs

Next person rate American Psycho... If you haven't seen it then you have to watch it ... Now!!

I actually really like Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, but everyone else I know hates it. I'd give it 8/10.

I haven't seen Felon, so I will leave that rating to the next poster.
