Too Complicated?

Archive: 10 posts

I have recently begun constructing a level for LittleBigPlanet 3. However, when I tested it in play mode a message popped up claiming that my level was too complicated and that I should remove some things if I want to share it. Yet the thermometer is barely full, as there is almost no logic in my level. Is anyone else having this problem? Is it just another glitch? Thanks in advance.2014-11-26 20:12:00

This happens to me also, mate. I hate it with a passion. Very very VERY...frustrating.

Providing your on a PS4...
I'm not for sure if it's a glitch or my best guess was it was implemented for the PS3 to not tax the system so much to prevent lag while playing and they forgot to increase the threshold for the PS4 version. However they really need to get rid of that message popping up so frequently.

I'm on the PS3... but still, this is ridiculous. The thermometer is barely full. I filled the thermometer much, much higher in LBP2 before this a similar message would come up, and that was because there was too much logic in one particular spot.2014-11-26 21:20:00

Guess we have no choice but to wait for the next patch. I'm sure they know about the problems flooding LBP. Just have to wait...2014-11-26 21:56:00

Have you tried dynamic? With more depth there's bound to be more stress put on smaller areas.2014-11-26 22:00:00

Complicated objects have nothing to do with the thermo, but with how many corners an object has. Just take out some of the corners, and it should fix it up. Or, if your level isn't super intricate with a lot of corners, maybe it is just yet another glitch we'll have to wait on...2014-11-27 01:02:00

Dynamic thermo, in my experience, makes creating harder. Since enabling dynamic thermo when I was at around 75% full, I've gotten so many errors and messages about having too much in my level, and large chunks of platforms have gone missing.2014-11-27 03:05:00

Yeah, enable Dynamic Thermo when you first start creating a level. That's the best way to get it to work, and don't glue things like you're used to doing, just use landscape. Another thing that helps is making your level completely out of cardboard, then going back after and changing materials, adding decorations and such. But that's all up to you, and your create habits.2014-11-27 06:28:00

If you are going to use dynamic thermo, I find that using decorations is generally safer to decorate the level than actual objects (even when dephysicalized) to prevent loading issues as poorjack has said. You also have to know the loading order of areas and test it very well in order for it to work.2014-11-27 06:36:00

Not gluing is the hardest part. I had a big chunk of my level move up about 1/3 of a small grid space, and completely F up a minecart segment I worked maybe 12 hours on. So not gluing everything in place is simply not an option at this point, but I am 90% done, so I just have to keep taking a deep breath and restarting the game whenever it gets... possessed by glitches.

I don't know if anyone is yet alive who remembers it... But this is launch LBPSP all over again.
