A Few Q's: Changes from LBP 2

| Sup (gender nonspecific) dudes! I've got a few questions about the new features in LBP 3 that I haven't seen answered elsewhere: In 2 there was no way to bring outside audio of any reasonable quality into the game, I assume for copyright reasons. Has anyone tried external audio input in 3 through a mic or otherwise? Is it still as unviable as it was in 2? Have there been any changes to the music sequencer, especially new instruments? Has the randomizer been improved at all? Is the follower better at keeping up at max speed? If not, is there something else that can do the job better?
