Connection problems!

Archive: 13 posts

Hello everyone.

If i want to play online, with a friend. I can never join him. If he invites me, it gives me an error. If i join, it gives me an error. If he tries to join me, it gives me an error.

The ONLY way i can get in someone else's pod is to: Invite someone to my pod, have him quit, and then follow him.

It's ******* me off and i would really like this problem to get out of my way. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Also, i do not have a keyboard so it takes quite a while to explain them why i have to invite them to my pod etc etc...

I'm not too sure.. My echnical knowledge is worse than a 1-month-old's walking abilities. But the connection doesn't go trough a router. I have a cable put directly into my PS3. Also, it's not internet that gives problems. It's LBP. I can browse and play online for 24 hours a day on the PS3. But the LBP servers are causing me problems. I hope that explained your question.2009-02-28 21:22:00

Yeah to honestly say lbp's servers arent the best like,
when i join my friend's game
we don't move then all of a sudden am half way across the screen.
but i honestly don't know.
like i have a wii, 3 computers and a ps3 connected to the same router.

anyways since you said a "Cable"
its probably ethernet.
people "recommand" ethernet for ps3 but i don't really.
i think wifi and ethernet are the same. its just the speed.
like am 1 room away from the router.

My room - Bathroom - Parents Room

and i get 87% but it goes down and up for some reaon
87% 86% 85% 87% and so on.
:S

It's not really a big thing for me, since my PS3 stands like 10 cm away from the router XD And so do my computers. Yes, we have put all the nerdy stuff into 1 small cubicle that we dare to call a "room". But yeah, LBP servers are the most unstable and awkward thing that i know of.2009-02-28 22:57:00

What does it report when you look at your network settings? You can try to get it set to either Nat 1 or 2 instead of 3, but that isnt always the fixall. Can you tell me where the other end of the wire goes? The one that is plugged into the ethernet slot on the PS3?2009-02-28 23:07:00

It's LBP
You can connect to a friend when you use some weird combination of procedures, but you CAN do it. Therefore it's not your internet
Unless you have the same problem, joing friends with other games online.

I have to disagree as I had problems similar but solved them. It was my setup. I have no idea if what I did will help here, but it cant hurt to get a few answers to try and diagnose the problem. It may well be LBP but...

Yeah, to me it's just the LBP servers, because i can play any other PS3 game online without any problems at all. I've played loads of WipEout HD with my friends, and never had any problem at all. And like Pinchanzee said, i CAN connect with friends, so it's not that it's not possible at all.2009-03-01 13:01:00
