Controlinator Inputs when on Broadcast microchip (for broadcast to Sackbot)
Archive: 4 posts
Hi all, As it stands now, the inputs for the controlinator (which lets you switch up button schemes or activate button presses through logic) only show up when you put a controlinator on a sackbot. Back in LBP 2 this wasn't really an issue as you would only use these inputs when controlling a sackbot. However, now we have the broadcast microchip for LBP 3, which lets us send a custom chip to all sackbots in range. However, when you place a controlinator on the broadcast chip you can't wire up the inputs, which makes it difficult to make a custom chip for a sackbot that can be broadcast. I've tried to first wire up a chip while it was still on a sackbot and then move it over to the broadcast chip, but once the copied chip is broadcast to a sackbot all the wired connections are gone. Anyone know anyway around this? Also, when you capture these controlinators with inputs in your objects bag and then paste them on a new sackbot, all the wire connections are missing. (I guess being captured doesn't count as being on a sackbot, so the inputs are removed?) Any help much appreciated!!! | 2014-11-23 08:21:00 Author: kemengjie Posts: 42 |
I believe the only real fix is to not use the broadcast chip. | 2014-11-23 09:00:00 Author: Devious_Oatmeal Posts: 1799 |
Hi :kemengjie, Alas, there's no way to really wire up a controllinator to a second input controllinator on a sackbut with a broadcast chip directly. If you need to control a sackbut this way you could try the following and it might work for you. (tag/sensor control setup) On the broadcast chip, set it to detect nearest character. On its chipboard place a controllinator. Wire each button output to a labelled tag. Next, create a sackbut and open its chip. Place on this a receiving controllinator. Now, into each of the button 'inputs', wire tag sensors, set to detect that particular tag on the broadcast chip. (Eg. The controllinator on the broadcast chips transmits R1 output to a tag labelled 'R1'. and the receiving controllinator on the sackbots R1 input is fired when the R1 tag detect sensor wired to it detects the tag. THis is a little messy but should work partly | 2014-11-23 12:41:00 Author: Sean88 Posts: 662 |
Sean88 Yeah that's what I've started to do. Just means I need to ensure each sackbot I want to broadcast to has a controlinator on it. I was just hoping I had overlooked something when it came to the broadcast chip. Hopefully they'll make a change with an update. I had made this neat chip that caused a sackbot to slap a player whenever they get grabbed and I thought it would have been great if I could have broadcast to all sackbots in a level. Thanks! | 2014-11-24 07:25:00 Author: kemengjie Posts: 42 |
