Making a multi-staged puzzle game. Need help!

| I'm trying to make a multi-staged puzzle game, but am stuck trying to figure out how to make it flow together well. Basically, I want specific areas of a level to be reset upon failure, and make everything work in conjunction with a main menu of sorts. Think of the logic behind the "Image Puzzles" level by Snoki69 that was recently made a Team Pick. Do I need to use level links, or is there some way I can put it all on the same level (would help me save space on my Earth without needing to waste an adventure slot). My main problem is the "Stage Reset" thing. I'm not entirely sure if I can do this, really, but would like some insight on it if I can. I'd like to be able to select a stage from the level's menu and play it, and return to that menu upon fail. Re-entering the stage would reset everything in the area. Is this possible? Any and all help is appreciated. If there are any tutorials out there for this kind of thing (I couldn't find any myself), I'd appreciate a link to one! | 2014-11-22 14:20:00 Author: wolfos96  Posts: 3 |
| You can make the stage reset by just emitting it. When you want to reset it, delete it, and then re emit it. You can also use emiters to save space. When going onto stage 2, delete the stuff from stage 1 and then emit stage 2, and so on with the rest of the stages. You can use the movie camera for a fading effect between stages, for it to look better. As for the menu, you can use fonts to make the letters look good, and make them sticker panel so you can change their color/brightness when an option on the menu is selected... actually pretty simple honestly.
