Sticky Note Idea.

Archive: 5 posts

I'm sure a lot of of creators out there are going to be making some pretty complicated work. If the creator had to modify the level at a later time, it would take some time to recall what part of the level did what. This would be especially inconvenient if the level had a complex system of switches. I think it would be helpful to have a type of commenting system to add to your levels as you work on them (similar to comments in a programming language).

The system could be implemented as a type of sticky note tool. The note could be applied to the level like a camera or a magic mouth, and the note would only be visible to the creator in create mode. Afterward, the creator could always check the note to refresh their memory about that specific part of their level.

yeah... that's really clever. I've always got this kinda problem with switches 'n stuff... sometimes i don't know where a wire comes from and what the switch actually does....

Am i understanding you right now? xD

Yeah it's just a tool to leave a comment to refresh your memory about what something does.2009-02-27 22:00:00

I can usually remember what my switches and wires are for but yes, this could be very useful for making complex machines. I'm sure it's been mentioned before, good idea though.2009-02-27 22:09:00

Yeah, it can be difficult. I have hundreds of logic gates in my levels. Tracking the wires if I need to change something can be difficult.

You can use magic mouths with a tiny radius to leave a comment.
