It's been many years... But I'm ready to return.

Hello, all! This is... kind of strange, to say the least. I used to be a massive LBP fanatic, particularly during the LBP1 beta and during the game's first couple of months. I made a bit of a mark with my level 'Oculynth', which eventually reached over 30,000 plays. (Mostly thanks to my shameless self-promoting on various sites, and the abuse of the glitch that let you repost levels repeatedly on 'Cool levels.&apos I got a bunch of positive feedback, and made some new PSN friends. Those were some great times, and I published a couple of other levels, but I eventually fell out of the loop.

When LBP2 came along I was extremely excited, armed with a whole bunch of level ideas to let loose upon the world! But for some reason, I never uploaded any. Oh, I worked on some. I poured hours and hours into them. But my problem was that I'd gotten too ambitious. I had this idea for an epic space-shooter saga with over the top rambling villains and a string of varied levels interlaced with boss battles. I spent a long, long time on this project, called 'Angels.' But I was never satisfied with it. I allowed a select few people from my friend list to play what I'd made, and I got a rather mixed response. I tried to improve it, but ended up sinking so much time into it that I burnt myself out and scrapped everything. It didn't help that I didn't have as much free time as before. So... despite spending somewhere around 100 hours making stuff in LBP2, I gave nothing to the community. I played a ton of other peoples' levels, but didn't get involved on the forums much and faded into obscurity.

Now LBP3 is coming out. I live in the UK, so I won't be able to get the game until the 28th of this month. All I've seen so far are trailers and a few beta levels, but trust me, I'm hyped to the extreme. I just haven't wanted to spoil myself. After my experience with LBP2, I now know to keep my ideas on a leash and not attempt something that's out of my league. (Or something that would require hundreds of hours to accomplish) I've booked two weeks off work ready for the release, so I'll have plenty of time to play. As far as creating goes, I have some ideas, but I'll probably stick to the simpler ones for the time being. If anything, I'll probably make a sequel to Oculynth, this time taking advantage of all the new tools. (LBP1 seems so restrictive now...) I'm toying with the idea of a visual novel style level, but I'm not sure if that'd be too much to take on. Anyway, I'll hopefully be much more involved in this site!

Here's to fun times! :star:

Heya, Avatar_of_Chaos!

Quite a story you got there... I wonder if I've ever experienced the same... right now?

Anyways I'm pretty sure that you'll revive your imagination once again and make your dreams true even if that one was too much. I'm also sure that one day you'll be able to finish that level and show it to the community, maybe in LBP3. It sounded quite interesting.

See ya!

You'll hear a lot of sturm and drang regarding launch bugs, but the core of Create Mode is there, the Story levels are awesome, and the DLC will be along eventually.

Welcome back!

Hi Avatar_of_Chaos,

I also want to welcome you, nice to meet you! I'll even have to wait til Christmas Eve to get me a PS4 and the LBP3, but I will use the time to finish at least one of my four level projects. ...Hopefully! But It will become a hard time to have to wait while all the others are already enjoying all the new features of this fantastic sequel! *sigh*
Have a lot of fun with us and many greetings, Jürgen^^
