Usain Bolt

'Roider.

I'm sorry. People don't do that. You don't beat probably the most impossible world record ever a few days after breaking the 100 m WR. It doesn't happen. Here's a quick comparison:

Plus, he's an ***. Don't screw around with this stuff. Don't say you're better than than Michael Johnson. You're less an athlete than he ever was. Don't screw around with the gold shoes. When he did it, it was cool and original. When you do it, it's stupid and close-minded. Make your own legacy, don't show up the greatest sprinter ever.

And those defending him - don't say "the type of training has changed, all the records will fall" - he beat the other people by a half a second! That's incredible! A half second is an eternity! No one has that much more natural talent than everyone else.

Call me biased, but this is the truth, I'm sorry.

I dont like the guy because he's cocky...grr

But as an example of whats possible...

Phelps destroyed everybody and pretty much every time it was a WR:eek:

I cant stand Barry Bonds...Allan Iverson...Dion Sanders...oh and that one soccer fool that came to America...but they are all amazing at what they do...

I agree all of these people short of Phelps send the wrong message to the youth of the World......

I do feel bad that Johnson and Lewis have their records buried

they ARE the best tho... maybe bolt got caught up in the moment (olympics)

phelps hasn't been glouting... the press does it for him.

i think he deserves to celebrate however he wishes...
Im not defending thier actions... just the right for them to preform them...

imagine if you were the fastest guy in the world... how would you feel?

p.s. in the foot races the guys in 2nd and 3rd were celebrating too... y should they take the spotlite from the gold winner? complain about them.

Well, he is a bit of an ***... I hope he gets put in his place soon.

I think I'll pull up one of the greatest quotes from one of my favorite movie characters of all time.

"Great kid, don't get cocky"

First, Phelps isn't roiding. All the records - not just his events - are being broken, by athletes from multiple countries. It has more to do with enhanced techniques and the new LZR suit than anything else.

Anyone remember Victor Conte, the guy that gave all the baseball players and sprinters their drugs in the late 90s, early 00s? He actually tipped off the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) that the Jamaicans were probably roiding. He did this eight months ago. The WADA head, **** Pound (LOL!), resigned less than 2 weeks after receiving the tip, which included the dealers' names, phone numbers, and email addresses. At least investigate it properly! They said they didn't because Conte is a former drug dealer, therefore he doesn't have credibility. But what reason does he have to lie now that he's in jail? And what harm does it do to simply check anyway?

Bolt came from nowhere, despite what some people say. He went from getting toasted by *** in the 200 a year ago to being the world's greatest sprinter ever. He went from a 19.67 to a 19.3. The second time he ever ran the 100m he broke the world record. The 2nd time!

Look at the rest of the Jamaican team. The women's 100m champ improved her time by over a half a second in less than a year. Veronica Campbell-Brown went from perhaps the best woman sprinter in the world to not qualifying in the 100m because three other Jamaican sprinters popped up out of nowhere. Nothing here adds up.

Don't they test the atheletes for drug abuse before they compete? Maybe they just worked hard, idk, but after reading what you wrote, somethings up. If they haven't already, they need to test for steroid use.

They do test, but the effects outlast the drugs. Caribbean countries (ie Jamaica) do not test much in the offseason. So athletes take the steriods during the offseason while they train. The traces of drugs wear off in a few months, before testing for the Olympics, competitions, etc. begin. The effects, though, stay in place for much longer. They don't take the drugs during the Olympics, but more like 7/8 months earlier (like Conte said).

Besides, the ways to cover it up are usually more developed than the testing methods.

Alright, I see what you mean, you obviously know more about this than me.

I hope they find a way to bring these guys to justice, no one likes a cheater.

If they're cheating, it'll come out sometime within the next 4 years. Someone involved has a conscience.2008-08-21 04:50:00

I used to have a conscience. I stole something from one of my cousins friends and then I exploded like a year later and confessed. I was 6. For some reason now I can lie and feel nothing at all.

Yeah, but it doesn't count if he's cheating, and I'd say there's a 90-95% chance that he is. And being cocky is bad, no matter how good you are. There's a difference between being cocky and being confident. He's cocky, arrogant, and a jerk.

If he's not cheating - he can be as cocky if he wants. He deserves to be. It's tossers that are nothing, and cocky, that are annoying.

I like Bolt.

I think he has been great this whole time, you call him irrogant but he is just having fun. Imagine that having fun while competing, what a orginal concept. During his interview last night you really saw how mature he is, I think he was just having fun out there and was enjoying the moment, you have too. How many times is he going to be there at the moment, with the olympics being every 4 years, he will be 25 by the next olympics. He should enjoy what he is doing right now.
And he blew out all the competition and broke now 2 WR, give him some love he is now the best at what he has done. And if he wants to wear some gold shoes because he wins gold medals than give him a break.
It was very impressive on what he did and too bad he does not play some football, he would be a great WR.

Anyway, there's a difference between having fun and being an ***. This is these guys' lives. They live to compete in the Olympics. And here's this guy, showing them up. Unless you've competed in a similar event, you have no idea how annoying this really is to everyone else. You can have fun without being an *** and being arrogant.

And I refuse to give him love because I doubt his true ability and how clean he is. He comes from a country where they barely ever drug test, and really did just kind of pop up. It wasn't a gradual increase; he came out of nowhere.

As for the gold shoes - Michael Johnson wore gold shoes. Him doing that was absolutely epic, perhaps the greatest moment of track and field since Roger Bannister breaking the 4:00 mile (okay, that may be hyperbole). Bolt doing this implies that he believes he is at the level or better than Michael Johnson, which is absolute heresy. Johnson was clean (if he wasn't, it would've come out by now) and the training level today is so much more evolved (ergo, better) then it was then. If Johnson was in his prime today, he likely would've run a 19.20.
