Icon change for weaponators?

I've been really mad at Media Molecule for not having icons for the different weapons. It sorts it by kind like instant and self weaponators, but if we create custom weapons, nobody would know if we got a custom weaponator because of the sorting.

My point is, there isn't an unique icon for the different weapons and there isn't a icon maker to make icons for custom weaponators. But, there might still be ways of creating custom icons and if there is, can someone please tell me? Thanks in advance.

Fairly simple. Load up your weaponator and group it to anything you like. Then bury it under the track with the weaponator just slightly showing. You'll then get the pick up without the weaponator icon showing. Look at my level ' Circuitry Circuit' for visual explanation.

Sorry Maestro. StJ read this properly, I misunderstood, but yes it's possible.

You can use a sticker frame on the HUD. Connect a tag sensor to a HUD tweak gadget (which has been set to your selected sticker) and also a weapon loadout gadget (with your specified weapon), place on the spawn point. You will need to create a custom weapon pickup and on that place the corresponding tag to match the tag sensor. You'll need to set a timer to your preference for the weapon duration.

So whilst the timer is active, your sticker 'icon' will appear on screen and the weapon will be available. Timer runs out - weapon not available anymore and sticker disappears.

Edit. Just another thought. You could use the standard weapon pickups with a piece of 'hidden' forcefield material slightly underneath the track with the tag on that. No weapon specified in the weaponator, but the tag would give you your specified weapon anyway.

Edit.Edit. Also forgot the sticker frame widget has a 'timed' option, so just set that to the same as the timer and you're done.

To clarify:
Put tag sensor (adjust it's range to 2.0), a HUD tweak, timer and weapon loadout gadgets on spawn point.
Connect tag sensor to HUD tweak and input of timer.
Set timer to 'count down' and connect to weapon loadout.
Adjust timer and HUD tweak to same duration.
Place a tag corresponding to the tag sensor on a piece of suitable material.

Now just decide what sticker weapon icon you'd like to appear within the HUD widgets section of the Popit and what weapon you'd like in the weapon loadout.

Everytime you now run over that tag you get you're weapon and icon for the specified time.

Thanks but I wanted to know how to make a custom icon when a person picks up a random weaponator. For instance if I was doing the straight shot and the 1st place seeker, I want those to have different icons. So when a person picks up a random weaponator and gets a straight shot, the icon will be its own unique icon. Then if they pick up another one and it's a 1st place seeker, it should have a different unique icon that goes with that weapon. You only described one weapon and the person would have to keep that weapon through the whole race.2014-11-12 20:40:00

I'm not sure you can differentiate like you're after with the standard random weaponator. However, the set up I described is not limited. You can have as many different weapons and icons as you like, just set a different tag sensor colour for each. You could also use a randomizer/emitter set up to simulate a random weaponator with the added benefit of custom weapons if you wanted.

You can make pseudorandom weaponators, using randomly rotating specific weaponators. I described something similar in my last level (witches run), but I can describe it more thoroughly if you need.2014-11-15 23:45:00
