Hi everyone.
I was just thinking playing and creating in LBPK last night andmaking a fuel system for a car, with an on-screen fuel meter), and it got me thinking about LBP3.

Also having read other posts about this, its something that I think could benefit LBP3, ' screen Head up displays'.

Karting, actually handles these brilliantly, with some awesome tools to customise your own display.
I was thinking how cool this would be to implement in LBP3.
You could have, a Sticker gauge, a score gauge, a text gauge, a bar gauge, like how its done in karting.

What do you guys think?

It's been mentioned a ton of times. Not saying mentioning it more is bad, but it's been mentioned a loooooot. Just to show how much we want a customizable HUD.

There are some posts about a HUD and even possible ways to apply one.


But one issue is that in Karting, they have the player spawn points, which are specific to each player. LBP2 and the BETA, does not, and did not. Although I am hoping we get some way of having that in LBP3. Like each player gets their own spawn point.

Which, if I recall, you need to have each HUD be specific to each player in Karting.


I think the HUD in karting is a little limiting though. In LBP3, it would be nice to have a HUD that we could design to make them more unique to the level.

I think they may take a bit, or hopefully all, of the useful tools from Vita and Karting and use them with LBP3. That would be awesome.

It would also be very easy to implement, at least I believe it would, since they have an idea of how to make a HUD customizable enough for what the LBP creators need. I doubt it would be perfect, or as versatile as I wish it would be, but a little would be nice for a start. Maybe more will be in DLC.

Yes, I agree with you guys. There are individual spawn points in place with the 'team' option on the entrance and spawn gates( I have tried the whole separate gates/per player with a friend and they do work, but as far as HUDs are concerned, they could have something like karting, where you apply the HUD logic to the individual players gate. You can say, via an overlay, where particular HUD icons are positioned on the screen. Then set them to be shared or individual to a certain 'team' player. A shared counter for example is one that all players see, whereas an individual counter is specific to that player.

I know huds can be done with timers/sticker panel/followers/DCS's etc., but having a flat sprite overlay would be so handy.
