Can we "force" open multi-player or match-make?

Archive: 4 posts

Hey everyone. Say I wanted to create a pvp arena type game in LBP3 and it would clearly require 2 players to work, is there any tricks I can pull to get the game to try to pair up players, or create level links that tries to put players together? Something like this would be fun for me to make but I have a feeling (both) traffic and more specifically MANAGING traffic in an efficient way might dampen the possibility.

Anyone know if there is a way to "require" multilayer for lbp3 custom levels?

In the beta it was still on the recommended number of players thing.2014-11-04 05:31:00

The only thing I can think of is to have a level that will occupy a single player until someone else joins him and make it so a link to your versus level activates when someone joins the player.2014-11-04 08:10:00

I think making a single-player mode that showcases the abilities in any multiplayer should be a given. Unless of course you're well-known enough to where that traffic will come already.

It shows the player what to expect, and it lets the player wait till someone can join them. Make the 1-player section able to be played by 2+ though. That way they join you in the level, and then from there, the two can move to the VS, if they wish, or do the 1-player mode. maybe a kind of hoard mode.

Which I wish you didn't have to wait for a level to load before seeing how many are playing it. It would be much faster if you could bring up a chart to see how many are playing it automatically. Maybe even watch the levels, similar to a like, so that something pops up saying 'So-and-so Level has players available! Do you wish to join?'
