A telekinesis chip.

Archive: 20 posts

I have one of these from LBP2, but I collected it from a level giving away complex logic chips a kind person made. You could put the telekinesis chip on an object and then move the object around by holding R2 and moving the right stick, exactly how you move Sackboy's arm around. With the movement of the arm, the object moves. (If you are in a close enough range.)2014-11-01 12:39:00

So, using your characters arm instead of the PS Move?I think if people are giving one they made out, there wouldn't be much need for one already there.2014-11-01 14:18:00

@dyna Perhaps, but only people who know about that level (which isn't many) can access it. I suppose people could just spread it, but it would be easier to have one there. I do have the PS Move pack, but I think it would be a nice addition. Hey, maybe even the touch pad could be integrated with it.2014-11-01 15:46:00

Not going to lie but that logic is pretty simple. I didn't notice if you can use the touch pad in the PS4 Beta but if be can I don't think that would be too difficult either. Never hurts to have pre-made logic which saves us the time of making it.

Wouldn't this be quite simple to make? Just using a controlinator, setting it as a receiver and make it receive from nearest player.
From there you just make a advanced mover hooked up to R3, and only activate the chip it's on when holding down R2..

In LBP3 this could be done more efficient using the broadcast chip, by setting it to broadcast to all tagged objects in range, then just place a tag on everything that you want the player to be able to move.

But some people aren't experienced enough with logic, and struggle to learn it even if they try their hardest.2014-11-01 23:35:00

As unfortunate as that is we can help those who aren't as well experienced with logic when they ask. But they need to ask. This is the reason why I'm working on an in-game wikipedia for logic. The level will contain information about each logic piece and how it can be used efficiently. The level is called 'Logicpedia'. It'll also contain example logic that can be given away and a logic builder to train players in the ways of creating it.

The help section can be used to either ask directly for the chip (less likely to get a response) or have a video posted (slightly more likely esp. with PS4), or have a text tutorial with pictures.2014-11-02 01:37:00

Of course asking directly for the chip you're less likely to get help because you're not learning anything. If someone asks me to help them I'm going to write up in great detail how it can be done, or I'm going to join them and help them make it. This isn't directed at you Koltonaugust specifically, just in general.

"Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime."

Which making it yourself gives you some knowledge that you can apply towards other logic, and when you make it yourself, you have a lot more control over how it works.

Or from the words of Frankie Boyle: 'Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Give a man a fishing rod, he'll break it up into firewood.' I don't know where this is going.

@SEW097 Lol, I didn't interpret it as directed towards me until you said that
But as for a chip, I could possibly see it as a powerup but the powerups they supply now, you can create yourself and capture so...

I don't know either, but let's keep that train going! 8U

There could be a pre-made one and then a more in-depth tutorial than in LBP 1 and 2 explaining how everything works.2014-11-02 11:08:00

I don't find any of those tutorials useful. I just start them > hover > move to prizes > leave.

That's what I'm saying. They need to go more in-depth and HELP people, rather than just give them some prizes for hovering through a pointless tutorial.

They have gone more in depth. Wait until you play the 5 hours worth of Popit puzzle tutorials.

I found the BETA ones a bit too slow and long for my taste for learning purposes but hopefully it will get better as you progress.

Everyone's got them different learning tastes.

And these complicated logic systems found around the community are kind of like 'trade secrets'. Except everyone tells the 'secrets' which is good. The logic pieces are fairly simple on their own, which I'm sure an AND gate, Directional Splitter, or Microchip isn't very complicated to anyone. Each piece has some rules, and how you arrange those rules determines your logic system.

Personally, I've found the tutorial levels to be helpful. Of course they could be better in explaining some of the settings in the logic pieces, but I learned those from practice and trial and error. I came into this game knowing nothing about this kind of logic, and now I think I am fairly versatile in it. I mostly contribute LBP1 to my learning though. Having to actually make the logic pieces yourself with pistons and sensors makes understanding and appreciation of this logic much better.

Whilst I agree that they're quite slow, I managed to get access to a few others that were not meant to be accessible, and they're so well done I wanted to see and play more.
