Word Fonts

It would cool if we had most of the word fonts we see today....

This will help creators greatly especially the ones making RPG using menu, font dialogue, and title too!

Yes. But I think it's making a 3D text creator that may be the challenge. Of course I want this. It takes so long making my custom fonts and then separately selecting each letter to make a word.

More than likely, it would have to be a thin layered thing, or sticker, that you type out first, then you can place it. Or an editable sticker.2014-11-02 02:34:00

It's still going to be a difficult task how ever the developers would decide to do it.

Still not useful for displaying menu text or something else...

Wait, yes they are. you can make the text only visible.
All the text on this one is from notes

Craft is the only thing that isn't written with notes in this one

Here's a flat-out all-note menu

And this one is notes with analogue inputs to make the mana display (it works but the picture doesn't really show )

Although I have the vita version I never really got into it so I didn't know this could be done. Through what you have shown us I'm desperate that they implement the vita notes version into LittleBigPlanet 3 because of this.

Ugh please! It took me ages to do an RPG menu in LBP2. I feel like the time creating these menus would be cut by 90 percent if this was in place. Especially since I needed really tiny font. Has anyone in the beta confirmed notes work like they do in Vita?2014-11-07 23:23:00

The LBPvita notes were not in the LBP3beta sadly. hopefully they'll add it in the future in a DLC kit. *mew

Were there notes in the beta or was there not? I had the beta though I didn't play it much so I never tried it.

Umm if you read what I said it should be obvious that there was notes in the LBP3 beta. however they are not much different then the LBP2 notes besides the fact you can change their color now.

If it were obvious I would have interpreted from the post that there was notes. You wrote there was no Vita notes. I suppose I somehow assumed that meant no notes were in the beta. I'm not to blame and this is no place to argue.

No, it was obvious enough. *mew And this wasn't a argument until you just now decided to call it 1. Don't blame others for your own misunderstanding of the things others say.

But yeah, it was just a misunderstanding. You understand what i was trying to say now. lets move on.

I really think they just hadn't got to the notes in the build they gave out for BETA. I don't see why they would be in a different DLC pack when it could be included in the notes tool instead of a separate tool.2014-11-08 08:35:00

The solution is so easy: You have a text option (with a variety of fonts) when using the paint tool. Now you can manipulate that sticker panel how you want to create a variety of different presentations.

DO IT!

As i see it. Vita had the creators come in and make that awesome piece of fantasticness. Now they have them coming in to work on LBP3. Why wouldn't they implement the tools in Vita, since we have seen so many transferred over, and I am sure witht he experience of Vita, they'll add even better tools and tweaks to existing tools!

So I think they will use most, if not all, of the Vita tools that weren't in LBP2, plus some! 8D

Granted that's just wishful thinking.

I don't think the Notes solution is good enough. I think my sticker panel/paint solution is much more user friendly.

Well of course it's not good enough! Good enough would require a much more customizable way to create a font. Shoot. Could even make a LBP keyboard in-game that the player can make fonts for. Similar to actually making fonts, where there's a certain space limit, and the sizes can be tweaked or stretched in-game.

The paint tool and the sticker panel is THE answer. Tie the text option in with the messaging keypad and the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. You could make a variety of signs too.

This HAS to happen.

You know... It is very possible to make a keypad like the PS's in-game keypad by using some basic logic. All you would need to do is use emitters and sticker panel for the actual typed fonts. When you're done, just copy the typed text and stick it wherever you want. That's a 'just-in-case' scenario though.

But. This IS just font we are talking about here. I doubt it's high on the priority list when they have a some-what decent bandaid via the notepads. I would like to see the LBP keypad-font that players can make their own fonts for, and even have a kind of saving system for fonts so players could share the fonts more easily.

Yeah, but that's too much messing about. I just want to write the text, put it on a sticker panel and place it in my level. I see no reason whatsoever why they can't include a text option in the paint too and then, like I said, the sky is the limit on how you want to present that text.

That works, yesh. Although for me, I like custom-made fonts. Unless you're including custom fonts.

Yeah, you'd be able to use custom made fonts too. I'm just thinking of the broader picture here. The Magic Mouth and the Notes only really display text in one or two particular ways, but with this method you could present them how you wish. you could use any other sticker for the background, any other sticker to type over, any other sticker to add a flourish to the text, any other sticker to create a frame (or even draw one yourself), or even animate things within the text. The shape can be any shape you want because it's going to be placed on the sticker material. I can see RPG creators lapping this up, as well as story tellers. And no more stupid Magic Mouth sounds as you click X to read on, or even to scroll through the text <- I can see how that can be done too using this method.

It really DOES embrace the concept of LBP and add it to text.

An expanded Vita notes tool would be better because it was so flexible. You could pipe in a score sensor and make custom scoreboards. All it needs is more fonts and some kind of text broadcasting chip and you could make just about anything.

I agree. We just need the LBPvita style notes and for it to be upgraded and even better, anything else far as text goes is not extremely needed.

I'd like to also be able to broadcast text wildcards, so you could have the game say something like "fumetsusozo is nearing the finish line" (if you happen to be the closest player).

I think a sticker panel based solution has merit as well, because there are times you really need to mess with letter spacing, size and color...but I'd rather see that in a notes editor or something that you can go back and change.

What's going to happen (probably):
Notes are going to have more fonts (like in vita seeing as how much they were appreciated) so they might have things added in LBP3 for custom note fonts

What is a good workaround:
Having the PAINT tool available for everyone, so custom fonts are now more accessible than ever, if only there was a grid, or a way to onion skin with real live objects

What would be a best case scenario (in my mind) for custom fonts:
You create a material font, and upload your font into notes with live feed selection one by one (as for not uploaded fonts they will retain default text font to avoid complication) but this way anyone can make a professional looking font for notes

I mainly want this because custom text is extremely taxing on the thermo at the moment

Hi,

I also came from LBPV to LBP3 and when i saw how they downgraded the notes, i couldnt believe it...

Now i seriously feel like an idiot adding simple Text. Theres not much Variety in Fonts, it takes 10 Times longer with Stickers and doesnt Look so clean.

I really really really hope they just bring back those Vita Notes.

Or anything u guys suggested...

Just anything.

I personally would love both, but I lean more towards notes if I had to choose because of their analogue input.

Well. Wouldn't it be better to ask for the notes AND have them visible in screenshots and pictures?

I've been looking for info on Notes in LBP3 for abour an hour or more... Finally I found the thread! :-P

I watched the Notes tutorial on LBP.me, and I'm pretty disapointed that they aren't like the Vita... This should have been a no brainer to add into LBP3... I'm praying that it gets added in PRETTY soon... My dream project is pretty much of hold now because of this. I'm really gutted...

Using sticker panels isn't an option for me. I need to display a ton of numbers on the screen at once. Each time a new digit is added that's 10 more sticker panels I would need to add. Using notes was SO much cleaner for implementing an RPG-like stats system...
