Welcome to the LBP3 Christmas Countdown 3 official Recruitment Thread!

What is the LBP Christmas Countdown project?

The Christmas Countdown is a community based project which started 4 years ago (4 years!!!) with the 12 Days of Christmas (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=41495-The-12-Days-of-Christmas-Mega-Thread) in the good old LBP PSP, that was organized by amazing community member anoken. The following year he revived the project and created the Vita Christmas Countdown (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=76502-Announcing-A-Vita-Christmas-Countdown), following the same concept. Last year I decided to organize a Vita Christmas Countdown 2 (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=82853-A-Vita-Christmas-Countdown-2-Hub-Thread&highlight=Christmas+Countdown), which succeeded in reuniting amazing and dedicated creators in creating the ultimate VCC experience, and we even got team picked!.

But now again, what is the Christmas Countdown project? It is a series of Christmas-themed levels, each one published in a sequence of days before Christmas by different creators to celebrate its arrival and to expand the joy of the season throughout LBP, and it is becoming one of the strongest traditions of LittleBigPlanet Central.

In the Christmas Countdown you can meet fellow talented creators, learn new creation skills, and find new friends in the community! Feel free to check out the links above to check out what has the community created the last three years, you can even get to queue some levels if you missed them before!

The goal of this year's LBP Christmas Countdown is to be the very best and biggest event of the LBP CC series so far. And to fulfill this ambitious goal, we need you!

Participate in the biggest Christmas community project LBP has to offer! In order to apply, simply post a reply in this thread, or send me a Private Message. The only requirements I'm asking is to have some experience creating in LBP. That's it! You will decide what your levels will be all about! That means you can create whatever you fill comfortable doing, it can be platformers, puzzlers, arcade games, the limit is the sky! As long as it contains gameplay of some kind and an amazing bunch of Christmas spirit, the only thing that will integrate the project will be a very simple storyline which will be decided by the whole team later, and which can be added to whichever project you had in mind to celebrate this year's holidays.

Another small requirement is that you must try to compromise with the project. If you apply have in mind that the whole project depends on each and one of the creators in the team, and that you will have a deadline around 10 - 2 days before December 25th. Have no fears though, we have plenty of time, thus planning this project since now. Also, you can always ask for help in our private groups in this forum for your level and creation doubts.

Final commentaries! This thread is for LBP3 applicants only! The tradition has always been bound to portable LBP experiences, but this year, to create the biggest VCC experience throughout LBP, we are also organizing an LBP3 Christmas Countdown. FAQ:

1. Can I apply for both events?
Yes, but you must be prepared to create a whole level both in LBPV and in LBP3.

2. When and how will the planning of the series begin?
As soon as we gather enough participants, we will create a private group and there we will proceed to give creators further instructions. Regarding LBP3, we will begin to plan before the game comes out. We encourage beta testers who already know some of the mechanics of creations of the new game to come to this VCC and engage in the first LBP3 community project! What a better way to start participating in the LBP3 creative world than in this way

3. Can LBP2-only owners apply in the LBP3 recruitment thread?
The vision of this VCC is to create a nice event for the launch of LBP3. Having the series divided in both games would not be very good, right? Anyway, if there are too few entries in LBP3, we might open the event for LBP2! Don't be afraid of the new game's mechanics though, if you know how to create in LBP2 it will take you two days to learn the new game's tools and basic new tricks. 4. Is there any limit of participants?
Not really, even though we can't precisely have over 30 creators in the project, there is no real limit of applications. The limit will rather be determined by time, once there are enough amazing guys enrolled by, applications will be closed. Apply early!


We are expecting your applications creators! Tell your friends! In a personal note, being enrolled by my good friend VelcroJonze to this amazing and fun experience back in the first VCC was the one thing that made me become a part of this LBP community. It is indeed one of the most fun experiences I've ever had in LBP and in videogames in general. I expect you guys will have as much as a good time as I do every year!

Hmm, It sound fun. But this is a bit too early. Yes the more early the more people to see this yes. But yet, too early to were people will forget about this, when Christmas comes because this was a thread from 4 months ago. So I'd probably create this thread in Nov 30th. Actually last year I did create this around November 20. I know it is kinda early know but we'll have time to plan this with more time, the applications will last much longer and we will be sure to promote this again strongly as Christmas approaches.

Hey there koltonaugust! I recall that you couldn't make it in time last year, glad to have you around

The process is pretty simple: We gather enough creators (around +7 is usually the average, but some times there are even +12), we create a group, we discuss the simple story shared, we polish a few minor details and give away publishing dates, and then everyone starts on creating. You can create whenever you have free time, no need to be connected at any particular days. I believe proper creation will begin precisely around mid-November.

It'd be nice to have you in either event! If you feel you have more experience and feel more comfortable in either LBP3 or Vita then you should go for it! I'll add you as soon as you confirm the platform 		2014-10-27 03:32:00

I would absolutely love to participate in this! I have only just recently started using these forums and have been looking for some form of community project to join in. I would only be able to do the LBP3 countdown though as I do not own a vita. I do however have LBP3 pre-ordered and ready.

If there is any question about my ability to create, I have been playing the series since its first installment. while I do go under a different account name I am willing and able to prove my abilities through a rather extensive collection of objects and levels I have created and still have access to. Okay guys I've updated the thread, 6 people enrolled so far. I'm expecting around 8-10 so I'll extend the registration dates a little further, as I'm planning to do some proper advertising for this project both in the Vita and LBP3 sides. Your level of last year was the most hilarious and one of the best ones for sure!

Whoa this brings back memories, Hard to believe its been 4 years.

I was one of the original creators working on "The 12 days of Christmas LBP PSP" level series all those years ago.




12 Days of Christmas in the good old LBP PSP, that was organized by amazing community member anoken.
Just to clear up a bit, While Anoken did make the incredibly helpful Level List (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=41495-The-12-Days-of-Christmas-Mega-Thread) for the PSP levels It was actually all of us creators working together rather than one person organizing the project. In fact the whole thing was started by CheeseBo in this (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=35633-12-Days-of-Christmas-LBP-Style) post.

Simply because i refuse to play LBPV anymore. It's a cool game and all, but it's nearly dead, i don't like (most of) the people who still play it. I do have money to spend but i'm not sure if i should instantly spend it on LBP3 or something else.		2014-11-15 14:05:00

I do like playing LBPV, but I can't make levels there. I can, but I feel like I can't. There isn't much materials I can use for Vita, so I prefer LBP3 because of the new stuff. I might change my mind soon! 2014-11-15 14:07:00

Believe me, I would love to join in on this. In fact, I actually have an unfinished Christmas-themed level collecting dust on my moon for ages now. Unfortunately, I doubt I have capability to create a whole level within the given time (which is pretty much the reason I publish creations at a snail's pace) so I think I may sit this one out.
