Need Help Making Music! (Queen band!)

Archive: 2 posts

I've been working on a concert level for about two years now, but it's been mostly abandoned since I found myself unable to finish it all by myself.

The level is supposed to simulate a real Queen concert playing their famous hit song "We Are The Champions". The costumes are done, the acting is done and the setpiece is also done (mostly). Problem is, my headset is awful at recording songs, and I don't see any other way to make this level other than recording the song.

So with that in mind, I recorded solely the vocals and decided to sequence the rest of the song with the music sequencer. However, I'm terrible at using that thing! I have no idea how to work with it, and as much as I try, I always end up failing. Can anyone give me some help?

When recording a song (via headset), it tends to have lesser quality and less creativity, and I know using music sequencers can be a pain in the butt. But I'll give a few tips:
1. For the Music Sequencer, if you have a software that reads MIDI files (for e.g. Synthesia) that will do. It'll show the keys of a piano and will indicate the type of instrument etc.
2. For the stage, try using lights (and possibly wobble/motor bolts to make the lights rotate) that have a sequenced activity, or a randomiser connected to all of them. If you use the Light Tweaking tool (for e.g. colour corrections and fogginess, or even the darkness), use that at times and also use smoke machines for additional smoke/fog. If you used emitters to emit certain light based objects or something to make the stage look better use that.

Good luck with all future levels, Sana_88 (aka Joe)
