Airtight in material tweaker

Archive: 7 posts

It would be nice to have a airtight option on material tweakers so you can make underwater structures without water filling inside it.2014-10-25 16:43:00

Interesting thought. Better than the water material idea imo as it's more practical but I wonder how it would look.2014-10-27 02:45:00

Seeing as how there are 16 layers that the water fills, a space underwater would look awkward with any camera angle except a flat one.

The water material is also far more practical.

I don't know about that. I don't think you would have to make any graphical change to be quite honest. Just have an area that isn't affected by water physics. Because unless you were super zoomed into the space, you would still see water. The only thing would be the confetti in the water.

I see what yuh mean now. Although if I were to have a level that took place under water, I wouldn't want that water-look all over the area with no water physics. There's also murkiness to take into account. What if you use this airtight material in very murky water? Changing the murky water to suddenly clear may look awkward with a water changer tweaker thing.

But, why not have both?

Not all levels with water will need that much water, and not all levels with a lot of water need so much non-water sections.

I think that with-holding water material from the beta would be a smart marketing tool so maybe it is in the full game? I doubt it based on videos but they could have substituted stuff for publicity purposes (one can dream )2014-10-27 17:18:00

Well I'm sure there's a ton more they haven't shown. When the full game comes out, we might just see a sudden slew of new tools that weren't even in the Beta, and perhaps some that the Game Jam folks didn't even get to see; which I'm sure the game they played had a ton more available to them.2014-10-28 21:32:00
